Don't ask what Bishoujo can do for you, what can you do

QUOTE]If Tokimeki Check-In wouldn’t impress someone, I don’t think that any currently available translated bishoujo game would impress them either, as it’s probably the best one yet, high among other games like Divi-Dead, Desire IMO.[/B][/QUOTE]

Well, it depends on, I’d say. Some people wouldn’t be impressed by Tokimeki Check-In at all, while others would be very impressed… Or, some people might not be impressed by Tokimeki Check-In at all, but they’d perhaps be impressed by Water closet . I have a friend, you see, and ha wasn’t all that impressed by Tokimeki Check-In when he got it - he was more impressed by the Men At Work games. So, it depends on what the person who’s playing the games are used to or ehat he cares about. Someone who’s used to hack’n slas games wouldn’t be all that impressed by a game like Tokimeki Check-In, despite it’s great entertainment valute, but such a person might be more impressed by a game like Brave soul - it has, after all a lot of monster killing… and, someone who cares more about the story than the hack’n slash part would probably be more impressed by Tokimeki Check-In than by Brave Soul.

Well, I told one of my friends about Tokimeki Check-In today, explained how the game worked, what it was like and everything, and he said it sounded kinda boring, but after he seen ten screenshots on a site (non of them had any adult content), he was like “That looks awsome! When can I go to your house again so I can play it?”.

Another site that might be a Bishoujo booster is httP://www.hentaijump.com They do mostly anime, but I think they might give games a shot if asked (and given one to try).

actually…i belive hentaijump already does reviews of PeachPrincess games

tho…i cant find much information there…where did the reviews go?

In defense of Hentai Jump, I’m not terribly fond of Mike Toole’s website, but he doesn’t update Henta Jump that often, maybe once a month or so, if that. If you emailed him, it might remind him again, and get him moving.

Mike

Mike Toole’s been job-hunting for the past couple of months, and I suspect that aside from the demands this makes on his time and energy, he probably doesn’t regard Hentai Jump as being of primary importance to his portfolio…

I bugged Mike about Hentaijump last week and he said he’d try and do something soon. Animejump is updated about every day so I think that’s where he’s spending most of his time.

But a lot of people like Mike and his sites so if we could get him to review something it would be a great boost. Assuming he likes it, that is.

I don't really know about that... What I mean is while the Snow Drop engine is obviously a much nicer game engine, supporting multi-wave playback (For SFX), transparrency effects and zooming effects etc. I don't really think that these are immedeatly noticable things when you first see the games, and for most of us, we only see screenshots before we buy games, so we can't even tell the difference until we've actually got them and played them.

Also, have you ever tried to play Snow Drop on a K6-2 350? It runs so slow that it's barely playable, or at least for me it did.

Kumiko, did you try the Gaming Intelligance Agency. I know its a real long shot but maybe if you at least are allowed to explain the benefits of Bishojo games in an interview or column it might help your cause.

I doubt it will work since a)while the site says they cover innovative games they never covered non-adult bishojo games and b)they have their heads rammed up Square's behind.

Another idea is to try Gamespot but I doubt they'll cover adult games.

Maybe Gamespot UK?

Kumiko, I’ve hear you speak with knowledge and articulation on the topics around here many times. I think it would be a good idea if you were to write Animerica or on of the other anime magazines in the US and tell them about BS games and the unfair treatment that those selling adult products get in America. After all, with they don’t deal with adult titles, the letter page in Animerica is fairly liberal.

If they won’t bite you could write the “Last Exit” column at http://www.anipike.com I know that the guy who runs the column has published letters from company people before and he’s not afraid to take on contraversty. Frankly, I think a good discussing of the adult side of anime fandom would be a boon for everyone. Plus, Anipike is one of the biggest anime sites on the net so it’d be good publisity.

Anipike is also, sadly enough, one of the sites where you can find the most links to pirate sites, if you ask me, so it might not be a very good idea to post it there- after all, most people who goes there goes there to find that kind of sites

Man, what a bummer. I guess talking about yaoi in the letter page is a further cry than I thought from discussing adult stuff. Especially considering that Animerica has a “naughty tentacle” icon in it’s review page.

But maybe I shouldn’t be so surprised. A friend of mine has had several articles and reviews publised in Animerica and the only way she finds out when they’re being used is when she the mailman delivers it.
