Hmm, the first thing to come to mind is something by Matt Groenig:

"Men’s magazines often feature pictures of naked women. Women’s magazines also feature pictures of naked women. This is because the female body is a beautiful work of art, while the male body is lumpy and hairy and should not be seen by the light of day. Men are turned on at the sight of a naked woman’s body. Most naked men elicit laughter from women."

My second, third, and any other thoughts cannot be put to print due to legal restrictions…

What I mentioned before, we men look bloody ugly like potatoes and yam, especially when we’re past the age of 14. We can only look beautiful in Shoujo manga, how I aspire to be like Fujitaka and Toya and Yukito in Card Captor Sakura.

ummm…Nope never heard of it (am i supposed to neway?)

Yes, but then I can swim.

Bleh what an odd topic this is

HA! the only thing i have to say is that…

women = art - men = trash
women = angels - men = devils
women = soap - men = dirt

anymore (btw sorry if i offended anyone)

Narcissus is the source of the word "narcissism". He was a Greek lad of surpassing beauty... and no one knew it better than himself. He continually rejected girls because they were not as pretty as he was. He angered the gods with his vanity, and a goddess (forgot which one, now... perhaps Aphrodite, since she is Goddess of Beauty) evened the score with him by causing him to see the one person who would match his own beauty. He was in the forest one day pondering whether or not anyone could possibly be as pretty as he was and thus be worth his attentions, when he happened upon a lake. Looking into it, he was immediately stricken with love by the image of the one beauty in all the world wo could be worthy of his affections... namely, his own reflection. So moved was he that he sought to reach out to this lovely waif... this caused him to lose his balance and fall headfirst into the lake, where he drowned.

Hmm, I think that it was Aphrodite who was involved in Narcissus downfall, because that he had rejected Echo, who were one of the most beautiful nymphs that walked on the earth... seeing how Narcissus rejected Echo's love, Aphrodite became quite angry since she was the goddes of love and disn't like to see anyone reject love, and lured him to the lake where he meet his doom - himself.

Several different versions of the myth exists and as usual, the specifics vary. Some say Aphrodite did the curse on him, others Artemis (Echo was one of Artemis’ favorites). And I know one version had him a prophecy wherein he would die if he ever saw his true self and was thus raised with no reflective surfaces. So the first time he saw himself, he fell in love and that was it for him. More of a fate curse than a god-driven curse. (Mythology was one of my favorite subjects growing up so I’m usually familiar with several different versions of any given myth.)

But back to the subject. My point of the joke was that in general, women’s body’s are more asthetically pleasing to both men and women than a man’s body. I’m sure Narcissus was very nice but he was more of an exception than a general rule.

So, should we play around with the physical aspects of girlhood/feminity further or should we start going into jokes about how the different sexes think?

Uh, you can leave to go get some sleep at anytime, you know. We don't insist you have to be on here 24-hours. (We just highly encourage it! )

Hmm, strangely enough, I did recently, well not in those exact terms but similar. I was having lunch with an art friend. (She has an actual art degree in other words.) I forget how we got on the subject, knowing me I had probably made a joke that she was taking graduate art courses so that she can do more drawings of male nudes, but then she explained that she finds the female body much nicer from both an asthetic and technical viewpoint. She finds that the male body is much too "hard and angular" for her tastes. (At which point I smirked, and being the good friend she is, she knew exactly what I was going to say next and she proceeded to glare at me quite fiercely. From “What Women Want” to “The Cutting Edge”? When the heck do you have time to watch movies?

Hmm, don’t actually remember the flower reference from that movie. Of course it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it. Knowing my sister, she probably has it on tape somewhere…

As an Illustrator, I can point out that Male body (Muscular ones) requires short, thick, and powerfull pen/brush strokes. While Female one requires long, continous, thick to thin lines (Not counting, Ko-gal, Super-deformed, or those MS-gal styles.)
In other words, You can’t ink a feminine figure worth a damn with shaky fingers.
If there is a reason for Female shape being prettier, I’ll say Because it takes more effort to draw one.
Just my 2cents.

Ahhh, but that would require a DVD player. I still havn't gotten around to that yet... (Though I really should get one since I can only find alot of the great anime coming out on DVD locally.)

Well, you don't really need a big TV or a surround system, etc... DVDs are fine on smaller units with simpler setups, or even just on your PC (with a DVDROM player and software.) You can get the players very cheap now, though.

thats true however multi-region dvdroms/players are not Very Cheap just inexpensive

Terms “very cheap” and “inexpensive” are relative. Relative to your income. Relative to where you’re located. Whether you have any rich relatives…

I believe the reason Woodelf said one would need a bigger TV for DVD is because the difference in picture quality vs. VHS is more apparent on larger sets. (I heard that the difference is best noticed on a 25-in or larger set.) The extras and digital sound can be enjoyed on any size TV, granted you have a digital receiver (and the necessary cables) and nice speakers (for the sound).
