A question about paysites - illegal activities

Congratulations, Italicus!!

I THINK you did a good job!

P.S.: Better now? I’m sorry! My mistake…

I? I mean, you?

Or were you meaning me instead?

EDIT Oh, you were referring to the other one. That makes a double score then....

While you did right to get right of the pirated games… it is ALSO wrong to use a hacked pass to a paysite!!

As someone who ran a (fully licensed, full of content and hosting THAT I PAID FOR) paysite once, it is NOT fun when hackers attack your site with scripts to try and crack your passwords and then flood you with insane amounts of traffic if they get through to steal your stuff… Of course, I did eventually get them back by removing the content area and planting spyware there instead… and while there has been NO content there for a YEAR 200 pirates a day still try to use the ‘hacked’ account. Argh.

You can generally tell without entering a site that they have illegal games on it. After all, they have to advertise the games to get people to pay to join. If it looks suspicious, report it. Please don’t resort to vigilante justice.

It’s kind of hypocritcal to rant about the filthy pirates when you are using pirated passes yourself.

First, i said a free pass, and not a pirated one.

Second.Fire must be defeated with fire, sometimes. To avoid flames to spread, you have to burn the ground a few hundred meters in front of them. Entiendes?
He didn't listen to me once with good manners, so i used bad ones.

Third. And about the question on hypocricy, simply there's no question.

Congrats on the 35700th post!

Glad this turned out okay.

Sorry, you’re generally not allowed to break into a burglar’s house to steal your stuff back, even if he did steal it from you in the first place, and even if it WOULD be the fastest way to resolve the problem. There is a reason we have laws.

I don’t mind using a bit of creative revenge as a last resort if you’re absolutely certain the guy is in the wrong and you have tried and failed to go through normal channels, I just want to discourage people from doing stuff they shouldn’t, or from trying to break into every paysite just to see if they’re complying.

And sorry if I was wrong, but usually “I found a free pass for a paysite” means “Someone posted a hacked user/pass on a board and I used it”.

Ahem, that's not right. It was really a free pass. But that pass didn't allow to download. Just to see something. a free tour pass. I used another prog to check if they had that stuff for sure - i'm not going to tell which one i used, because a) it might be useful for me later and b) receive oranges when staying in Rebibbia is my last wish in the world, even worse than to die ten thousand times, believe me...

Totally agree. Running a paysite is hard work, try it if you don't think so. Any site that has its own ORIGINAL content has my respect.

But when it doesn’t it deserve or not to be closed and requested to remove their illegal contents? Or don’t you agree 'bout that? O_o

Anyway, since it has removed it, i’m satisfied. Of course, no more free trial pass on this site.
