A question on Snow Drop and Tokimeki

Hi,

I was just wondering if Snow Drop or Tokimeki contained nudity, or any adult content at all. I’m kinda looking for a good (and clean if possible) date sim kinda game in English, and stumbled on this site. The other ones I’m guessing do…so, yeah. Any info would be appreciated. :]

Yes they both do contain nudity and adult content. As for good, many of us believe that they are both good games. As for “clean”, it depends on your definition. (I’m just going to assume by “clean” you mean lacking said adult content and/or nudity) As for a clean date sim game in English, I can’t really help you there as much, but possibly one of the others might be able to think of one off-hand. (At this point, I’m only coming up with the Hot Date expansion of the Sims.) There are such good date sim games out there, the problem is usually finding one in English.

Yep, both games contains nudity and Adult content, but it doesn’t need to be looked at negative… for example, form what I’ve heard, Snow Drop has a very romantic storyline… and many of the paths you will be able to walk in Tokimeki Check-in is very romantic, too .

As for dating sims, there aren’t very many japanese daing sims out there at the english market yet… most of us bishoujo games fans want to see more such sims, but it’s not possible right now, since the market isn’t quite as big as it could be yet.

Hmm odd but for the past couple of days I’ve been wondering how do most people end up finding Peach Princess in the first place. (And now I have the image of digital “icons” roaming the net with people tripping over a Peach Princess logo every so often, yes I have odd thoughts now and again.)

Well first, welcome to the BBS. Next, I have to agree with what Spectator has said about both games.

Lastly, if you’re looking for a game that would be only T-13 according to the ESRB, have you tried Graduation by MIXX? It’s not a date sim, its a raising sim. TSRI might still be selling it at a steal for $5.

Or you could try LadyStar as well. It’s not a dating sim either, but it’s very shoujo, would be about a T-13 rating (due to thematic elements).

I’ve picked up both games, and have been very impressed with both.

Mike

Snow Drop is an awsome game for story-line. It’s very “fairy-tale” like though not really a dating simulation. Tokimeki Check-In I can’t really comment on since I haven’t played it yet (I ordered it earlier today though). Snow Drop’s adult content is really not that bad, there are many differences is the type of adult content found in Bishoujo games, some of them, you would only play if you were alone, but then games like Snow Drop, Season of the Sakura and many others, I would quite happily play them even if there are people around that I know well, since the adult content is really part of the game’s story and is not too ‘bad’. If you really are looking for a dating simulation in English though, the best game I’ve played is True Love, but it’s not easy to get hold of now and it does contain adult content similar to that of Snow Drop and Season of the Sakura. Admittably, True Love is no where near as complex as games that are available on the Japanese market, but the only way we’ll ever see such games on the English market is to support what is available now.

Thanks for all your responses.

Actually I found this place via a dating sims FAQ that actually mentioned Snow Drop as something close to an English date sim. Anyway, err, the reason I was hoping for a ‘clean’ game was because as of now I’m a bit under the ‘legal age’ to purchase them. I guess I’ll just wait a bit. A pity though, both games seem rather interesting.

I’ve tried a few raising games too, but I’m really looking for more of a date sim thing. I guess I’ll just settle for imports for now, if I’m lucky enough to obtain one.

Woodelf - I’ve played Season of Sakura too actually…but it seemed a little linear to me, compared to what I thought a dating sim would be like, even though, yeah I understand it’s not really one. Also I kinda thought that them ripping off Evangelion characters was a bit odd. Even their attitudes were copied…but it was kinda fun.

Well, you can always find another way to buy the games, even if you aren't of legal age ...

If you're interested in sims, by the way, why not go to the poll we have for the adult bishoujo game Dokusen? It's a sim that Peach Princess may be able to release someday, but they have to see a little support for the game first...

The game itself seems very good, judging from what Kumiko and Dave E as told us about it (if you want to know more, read the thread for dokusen)...

Here's the link to the poll for dokusen, just in case you want to go there directly http://www.misterpoll.com/424752251.html

Please, tell me a "a bit under the 'legal age'" meant your are 18 < x <= 20!

Anyway, welcome here, and hope you enjoy the games you will buy.

Hey, Shinji-kun, don't let others decide what you should not do, just keep an open mind and enjoy playing . I played my first bishoujo game when I was 16 . One thing though, DON'T GET CAUGHT !!! Like I did when my mom inspected my room back then .

Yeah, I understand these games weren’t really meant for kids like me…Still I think it would be rather interesting to see if I could get my mom to order something from here…

Where can I get info on Graduation II?

Serio - lol…I have my computer in my room, and no one uses it besides me, so I have a good deal of privacy. :]

If that's the case, then... You skipped the intro page warning??? The one that read:

Actually, what's really embarrassing is that a lot of people I know who do game fall into the immature and primitive category themselves.

Thanks for the links. It turns out Graduation II is only $10. I might actually try it out.

ekylo - Unfortunately, I could say the same thing for the people I know.

fxho - Actually I did read that…Sorry for breaking the rules, I’ll go away now.

Shinji,

Something else that this reminded me of, the game company Atlus. They have an RPG, Thousand Arms, that uses a dating theme for one of the game aspects.

What I mean is, your character in Thousand Arms needs to get more and more intimate with a girl, so he can forge stronger weapons for him and his adventurers. So, to get more intimate with the girls of the game, you can take them on dates, give them gifts, or try their little game. It’s not a very deep dating sim, but it is one of the few English games that has it.

Just something that occured to me.

Oh, I think GameFAQ should also have a review of Graduation II. It might not be as detailed as Rowena’s, but it might give you some additional information.

Mike

I didn't meant to scare you away, just that you must follow certain guidelines... Remember, somebody could be held liable, and we don't want that to happen!
