AAH! What is this???!!!

"Refresh my memory, Lamuness…"

What is that thread??? It’s 56(?) pages long! I’ve read the first two pages and a part of the third one, and I’m finding it hilarious and very confusing at the same time!

And, um… What’s happening the manga and anime thread? Are we going to keep replying to that same thread? I can’t follow any of it. I made one post and from then I also can’t follow.

And those are the only two off-topic threads active. There are barely others being made/replied to.

What is going on?!

Well, you need to know the history of the thread. At that time, we didn’t have the Off-Topic forum. Then Lamuness-san made that thread our official “off-topic” thread and we, being the psychotics we are, immediately went berserk. I myself wasn’t online at the time and came back to something like a dozen pages of insanity. Very hard to take in all at once, but very indicative of the people here wouldn’t you agree?

Sure, why can’t we keep replying to the same thread? It’s more or less the same topic. Granted, it makes it hard to keep track of things but it’s our sneaky way of getting people to stop by and read the board several times a day in order to keep up…

shrug Threads die off. We sometimes run out of stuff to say. Or get bored. Or get distracted by shiny objects. Or get stuck babysitting the new vampire lemons. Or cataloging souls. It happens.

I already pass by several times a day, hungry for new posts, and I barely get fed…

It's just that long thread tends to scare people away. I doubt any newcomer would want to waste his/her/its time reading all the previous posts in order to keep up the conversation, especially when the discussion topics were shifted several times in the same thread. That's just... confusing.

True, but considering some of the really long threads I’ve see on other boards, our one little thread of insanity isn’t really that much.

Actually, I was mainly using as an excuse to explain about what the thread was and why it’s so long. I mean, every so often we get someone new come by and complain that the thread should be closed because it’s off-topic. But it was a dedicated off-topic thread in an off-topic forum, so pretty much the only way to be off-topic would be to be on-topic. (And saying that, I believe I just used up my brain quota for Friday…)

Sort of like the theory of the only way to be opposite on ‘opposite day’ is to be normal because being opposite on opposite day is being normal for that day so the only way to be opposite on that day is to be normal? Okay that made no sense, too many hours staring at statistcal outputs on the computer.

Which is exactly why I haven't touched that thread yet.

Man it's scary the people we have posting here
