About sales ranking

Olf, I don’t know if you get any feedback by email but I’d like to tell you your infos interest me. Thanks.

Thanks, Stephan-san, I’m very pleased to see someone appreciates my efforts.
As for the schedule, I started from quite some time ago (June from last year), but I should get to the most recent ranking sales result on tomorrow or somewhen next week. Then, of course, it’ll be updated each new month.

At this point I think I should add in that I appreciate your efforts. Thanks, Olf.

I wanted to post on the thread Olf started, but didn’t wanted to start his wrath (after his disclaimer) or to have some lemon ninjas chase me

Great work there Olf , I’m interested to see what are your thoughts and conclusions after looking at the charts.

Well, first, it is interesting to notice how the Japanese bishoujo games market is working: most games have all of their sales during a one-month period. Successful games may still sell for 2 months and very successful games for 3 months, but that's all. It is interesting to note, because, then, one could understand a Japanese maker (may) expect the same while selling a game (I'm talking about translated games, of course) in the western world. Alas, we all know this is not the case.

Second, even if it's true most companies in the bishoujo games business are very small companies, save a dozen ones, it is interesting to notice the four companies (Will, CROWD, CD-BROS and ZyX) willing to invest in the western world are still major companies, able to regularly have their sales in the top 30. That means they have the power to bear with the little English market and make effort. OTOH, that also means they (may) expect a lot, since they're already making a lot of money from their Japanese games...

Three, notice that most bishoujo games are AVG!

An important point, I suppose, to point out to those people who thinks that ADV's are pure crap :3. Or at least those who thinks tha tthey "can't be THAt popular" .
