Adam: The Double Factor

Hello everyone.

By surprise, I received the English version of Adam: The Double Factor by Himeya Soft today…

Has anyone else here bought a copy yet?

I have played it a little bit, and am enjoying it so far…

There is one thing though… It may be premature to say this, but I think they have left the H-CG censored. I came across one H scene so far, in Marina’s scenario, and it was censored…

I wonder if this will be Himeya Soft’s last English title though?

I was just curious to know.

Thank you for your time!

You are lucky!!! I did ordered last week. I didn’t recieving it yet.

Adam Double Factor is third of five sequels of Eve Burst Error series. i think Adam Double Factor is last Himeya Soft game.

What H-scene is it?

Is it with Marina and the girl?

I haven’t got mine yet…wait…wait…wait…

-I’m replaying Eve burst error in preparation, though.

How can you say that this might be Himeyasoft’s last English title because the Graphics are censored? If I remember correctly, The Maid’s Story graphics were also censored.

It also took them 7 months longer to get Adam out than they originally planned, but if Adam does well enough, I’m sure they’ll translate more games.

I got Adam the Double Factor today. I dont know H scenes already censor. I remember Desire (group who making for also Eve series)has a lot uncensor scenes (Only one censor scene).

I have last few Himeya Soft games: The Maid’s Story (yes, censor), and Immortal Studies 2 (uncensor). I dunno why…

Eve the Lost One (2nd of Eve Burst Error series): There was non hentai scenes game. I am not completing it yet as I have working on disc 2. I have to work to complete 15 out of 77 Playstation RPG games.

Eve Zero (4th of Eve series): also non hentai scenes game. I also not completing Dreamcast version. I have to focus complete Phantasy Star Online. Well… I wanted to complete first Playstation’s Eve the Lost One first then play Dreamcast’s Eve Zero. Few characters returned from Eve Burst Error.

Eve the Fatal Attraction (5th of Eve series): not coming out yet. According to Japanese Playstation magazine said end of 2001 or early 2002.

Well I recieved ADAM, and played quite a bit yesterday. The first Marina scene was censored but every other scene I have come across is uncensored. Also prepare for some translation errors, becuase there are quite a bit. Lots of mispellings and non-plural words. Even with these problems, I am still glad I bought the game. I would take a poorly translated game to a non translated one anyday! The storyline has started out well, and the onscreen selecting idea (where you select the item instead of just using words at the bottom) is a nice change. The only problem is sometimes its hard to find what you have to talk about still. Playing through a game like this or Hobibox’s v16 really makes you appreciate PeaPri translations! Well I am off to play some more.

I received mine yesterday as well, been playing it quite a bit, if I’ve gone through all the selections and I’m still stuck I usually jump scenario’s, because it either means I need to see something in the other scenario or something has to be done in the other scenario so I can continue.

I don’t mean stuck like that. Slight Spoiler For example when your talking to Ando for the first time about the bodyguard assignment you have to click on his watch to get the conversation to continue. It took me a long time to figure out that I had to click on his watch. Thats the stuff I am talking about. I have come across 3 spots like that since but they were not so bad since after the watch scene I have noticed these little details =P. I guess a Mystery-type game should require some observation.

I just finished Adam as well, My only problem was the overall lack of resolution in the entire game, they left so many plot threads hanging that I’m hoping they eventually bring Eve : The Fatal Attraction to English Windows.

O.K. here’s the Chronological order of the games in the EVE series and a brief plot description of each: (if I know or can guess)

-Eve Zero : Ark of the Matter
This game explains the stuff that happend before, and led up to Eve burst error.

-Eve burst error For those of you who haven’t played it, get it, and find out for yourself. It makes a lot of stuff from ADAM more understandable

-Eve : The Lost One resolves the whole thing with Mayako Mido and what happens to her.(Please note that this is the only game in the series where Marina and Kojiroh are Not the main characters.)

-Eve : The Fatal Attraction containing a rated R version of the events in Adam : The Double Factor and the concluding follow up to the whole she-bang.(it supposively comes in a 5 CD set)

I would suspect that C’s Ware will make at least a Japanese Windows version of the non-ADAM covered stuff, since they’ve released the rest of the series on Jwin, might even make it an adult version of it, but we’ll see.

I read gamefaqs said Eve the Fatal Attraction for Playstation will release 9/6/01. Then I checked Himeyasoft website, and it said release on 9/27/01. Maybe I will go to Chinatown, NY (J&L) for reserve Playstation’s Eve the Fatal Attraction Limited Edition.

I dont see any information about Window version of Eve the Fatal Attraction. I still think end of 2001 or early 2002. I think also no more Dreamcast version (I miss Dreamcast!!! faster loading than Playstation).

About this game… I’ve played the DEMO of Eve Burst Error, but i was wondering if i should play the complete version of that game or would it be ok for me to skip to Adam: Double Factor?

I suggest you play Eve Burst Error first. You will understand story of Eve Burst Error, then play Adam the Double Factor. Eve timeline:
Eve Zero (4th release)
Eve Burst Error (1th release)
Eve the Lost One (2nd release)
Adam the Double Factor (3rd release)
Eve the Fatal Attraction (5th release)

You definitly need to play Eve burst error first before playing Adam. A lot of the stuff at the end of the game in Adam will only be understood if you've played Eve burst error.

hmmmh…old topic…

i was wondering about Eve Burst Error and Adam the Double Factor

what sort of games are they? just stories or is there some interactivity?
if theyre just stories…that might not have good replay value…how long of a story?

Desire is also made by himeya isnt it? hows is it?

To Exoarch,

Desire is one of the best bishoujo games that I’ve ever have the enjoyment of playing.

Himeya Soft did an excellent job with the port No translation errors, pleanty of “in-character” dialog (what I mean how they chose to translate some characters lines match that characters personality… kinda like how you can “hear” what a character of a well written book sounds like).

Anyway, I put up some a review of Desire on GameFAQ

http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/review/32112.html

Seriously, this is an absolutly amazing game. If you don’t get it, you’re missing out on an adventure of a lifetime.

Mike

BTW, Joshua, you may want to read the thread Critical Point - Limited Collector’s edition about what should be called “censored” or “uncensored”, because I suspect what you called “censored” is in fact “with mosaic” (thus uncensored)…

All three games are visual novel adventures, and all three use C's Ware's "Lucid Motion" technology to offer specific scenes with short anime clips (very short, but tends to add to the enjoyment of the game since there are several of them.) They also all use C's Ware's "Multi-Sight" approach, where it is necessary to play the game from more than one character's viewpoint. Desire actually requires you to play the game through, then replay it from the other viewpoints where you'll learn answers to the questions that were raised in the original character's storyline. EBE and Adam require you to switch viewpoints in midgame in order to progress further in the story - this happens because the characters are involved in the story at the same time, and wind up interacting / effecting each others' actions and situations.

Slightly OT- I found Desire a lot easier to play by playing Albert and Makoto's Scenario's in the same chronology. (i.e playing Al's Day one, Then catching Makoto's scenario to the same day.) It just worked a lot better for me and I was able to follow the story a lot better, but, then again, that's just me.
