You know, as I kinda re-read through this thread I think people are missing Ladyphoenix-san's question a little. It's not the fact that she's turned on by anime, it's the fact that she's only turned on by anime that she was asking about. Then again I could be wrong, we'll have to wait for her to come back from her trip to be sure.

Not entirely only. She does state that actual sex, as in her with her boyfriend is still enjoyable. Then again with a boyfriend that looks like an anime character.

Well, no, but if you read most of the posts, it's everyone pointing out how it's not weird to be attracted to animated characters. Of course most of us don't find that weird. (We probably wouldn't be here if we did.) It just seemed everyone was being nice and supportive (which of course, we normally are) but not exactly about the right thing.
Hmm, again, without knowing exactly what she was trying to say, I think she meant to say that she is only turned on by pornography when it's animated and that she wanted our responses in light of that. (Kinda like if you said you only get turned on by the sight of naked people only if you're looking at National Geographic.) My point, waaaaay back when with my original post, was that it didn't really matter unless she thinks it does, or until it goes beyond being "...that's weird" to causing actual problems in her life (or, I suppose, in anyone else's life).

Actually, now that I've gotten a little sleep and now I'm able to think clearer (got to stop the 12-hour work day followed by 6 hours of partying thing) she did explain a bit on what she had been asking and it was the anime pornography exclusiveness. (Okay, judging by that sentence, I'm not fully awake yet.)
But yeah, your post was answering her question while several others were being supportive instead of giving the opinions she was initially asking for. She's been around here enough to know that we'll be supportive, she didn't really need us to say so. It's just that I did want to point out that sometimes (not including our normal tangents) we are answering a similar question but not the question asked.

Basically, it’s only unhealthy if you have to imagine your boyfriend as an anime character to get aroused. Like any other fetish, it’s not really a problem unless it becomes so tied to your sexuality that you cannot get sexual pleasure without it present.
So no, you’re not THAT weird. Just a little weird. But in my personal opinion, everyone has at least one fetish that the majority would find weird, even if they won’t admit the fetish to themselves. So you’re no more weird than the rest of us humans.

Actually, not even that would be enough to be unhealthy. That would be sufficient to meet all the requirements of a disorder, but if it didn't cause problems and the person didn't care, then it's not unhealthy. Even given that you must do whatever it is to get arousal.

Everyone has a different opinion on what is weird and in the end everyone is weird. Being weird is usually said when you are being different. Being different is nothing bad so donot worry tomuch. Aslong as noone get’s hurt by it you should be happy with yourself.
I’m weird and most of my friends are weird too in their own ways. Personally, I think it would be pretty boring to be normal. I really don’t think that many people meet a definition of being normal; very few, like probably about 1% of the world population. Many people may seem normal, but there would probably be at least one or two things about 99% of people that the majority would not consider normal (Of course, most people would never admit things that the majority would not consider normal because most people are afraid to do so).
That’s just my thought anyway.
