Anyone know how to get ahold of OOP AV DVDs?

Not sure how many peoples on the forum share my niche interest in Japanese AV, but lately I’ve been absolutely enamored by a Haruna Mai — she had two titles on, I think, Hustler’s imprint/subsidiary/whatever by the name of Japan X, specifically, under the series Japanese Super Idols Vol.13 and Vol.20 (Gold Edition, not sure what that means, Japan X adds them on with no particular rhyme or reason, though there are exceptions).

The English entry is totally clueless, doesn’t even realize that she had retired since March of 2005.

If anyone knows how I’d be able to get ahold of these 2 titles, new or used (but must be legitimate), or know whom to get in touch with for out of print AV titles, let me know.

I’m a longtime fan of Japanese AV too, and can help out with this.

There’s a Japanese website called SquarePlus that sells legitimate Japanese AV dvds and other goods. Not only is their website in English and easy to navigate, they’ll also make special orders for you if you want titles that aren’t on their website. I’ve ordered from them three times in the past for old, hard-to-find titles I couldn’t get elsewhere, and they came through for me quickly.

The only downside is that they only use EMS shipping for sending goods to the US, which is kinda expensive at $15.00 for a dvd or two. But it’s fast, and you get order tracking as well.

P.S. You can find a list of some of Mai Haruna’s videos at the X City paysite. You won’t be able to look at pictures or download the videos unless you’re a member, but you should be able to view title and item code information, which will be of help to you when making special orders.

I’ll give Square Plus a shot… $15 for EMS shipping is a bit much, I wonder if they offer SAL shipping. I got ahold of vol.13, almost thought it’d never come, so now it’s 1 more title to go. If all my other line of inquiries fail, then I’ll have to see if Square Plus can get ahold of the title for me.

Well, no dice, I was told that since uncensored DVDs are illegal, they have no way of getting ahold of it for me. Effing hell. Why are all these Japanese sites listing them then? Even though their legality is more than a whole lotta suspect — DVD-R and the like.

Reminds me of how adults sites in the US will list Traci Lords videos (Beverly Hills COPulator for example) - but don’t sell them because of the whole age scandal she had: she was only 17 for about half a dozen of them.

If anyone owns this, or has leads to how I may find such a title, or if your local adult video shop carries this title, please help out, we can surely work out either trade or payment. I’ve hit all the Japanese rental shops in the 40-48th street vicinity in NYC but turned up empty. Appears to have gone out of print for at least 2 years now, it’s frustrating how no used copies of this title has turned up anywhere, and all I want to do is complete my Mai Haruna collection. Haven’t had any luck locating it in the US DVD trading section, so I was hoping that perhaps some international buyers have bought this, or that it was ‘reverse imported’ to Japan.

It’s basically the uncensored/unmosaiced version of Otto no Me no Mae de Okosareta series, one of which features Mai Haruna.

Lately, I’ve gotten a little disenamoured with jporn. It looks good from a distance, but with a lot of it, when you get it, it turns out to be crap. Plus, I’m finding the censoring a bit tiresome, as well. You know, I’ve always said that if you watch a lot of porn, sooner or later, you’re going to see something you don’t like. And this seems particularly true of Japanese porn. Certain recent trends have been turning me off: nakadashi and shiofu, for example. It used to be that “rainwomen” (as we used to say in the States) were a specialized breed, which means that not every woman could do this. Now it seems like every Japanese AV has a shiofu segment. Does anyone here really believe the contention that male jporn actors have discovered a technique to make women squirt all the time? There can be no question that there is trickery involved here. In fact, I have one DVD in my collection where not only does the actress squirt out rediculously long streams of liquid, but in one scene the stream archs back and strikes her in the face, whith her shouting “dame, dame” all the while.

On the other hand, the girls in jporn really are cute, aren’t they? It’s easy to see how you could get enamoured with what’sher name. I like Sora Aoi, myself. What’s needed is for some reliable person with access to a lot of jporn who could review the stuff for the rest of us. Does any such person exist?

Well isn’t that the truth of most porn, regardless of country? 70% of American porn is crap. 70% of Japanese porn is crap. 70% of Russian porn is crap.

You’re joking, right? Ever since the advent of Cytherea, there have been endless squirt vids in the US porn market. It’s so common, some magazines even have a category award for it (like they do for Teen, MILF, and Threesomes). It’s not like something the American market hasn’t gone through.

Much like authentic orgasms, its faked. Some have the actress drink a lot of water (thus its only pee). Some have a special water pouch inserted inside the woman. Some use small water tubes and then digitally edit them out. Some have a water tube inside the man’s sleeve and down his hand (used for sopping, rather than squirting). I’m sure there’s tons more.

Not all of it is crap. I’ve seen a few things that made me smile. But finding good porn is like finding a nickel in a pile of shit. Even after you dig it out, all you have in your hand is a nickel.

My interest in acquiring Japanese Super Idols Vol.20 starring Mai Haruna remains unwavering. Does anyone know where I may acquire this, or in the off chance that someone here on the forum owns it, would he be willing to sell it?

Recently I did an Alexa search of these online retailers situated in California that sell uncensored Japanese AV titles, and the findings is hilarious… 80-90% of the traffic is from Japan. So now the mystery is solved, the reason why Japanese AV titles just seem to evaporate is 'cos they get reverse imported into Japan, and they don’t come back out presumably due to the legal risk. Sucks for me big time, but I’m trying not to completely despair, the chances of someone in the States holding this disc is there, however slim it may be. Or, I may just have to wait for some online retailer reverse reverse imports it back into the States.

Did you email Japan X and ask if they had any lost copies hidden in a warehouse or for special requests? Just 'cause they don’t list it on the site, doesn’t mean they don’t have it… :expressionless:

I stand corrected on the stipulation that Japanese Super Idols vol.20 is the uncensored counterpart of Attackers Shark’s Otto no Me no Mae de Okasareta — Mai Haruna’s pose on the cover were similar, so I just assumed, but after getting ahold of some bigger scans of the covers, I realized they are 2 completely separate titles. It’s not impossible that Japanese Super Idols vol.20 has a mosaiced counterpart in Japan, but at this time I am unaware of it.

Still very much want to obtain this DVD. It is now the only domestically released/sold DVD of Mai Haruna that I do not own.
