Before Dawn Daybreak - NEW Black cyc game !!!!!!!!

Well, I saw the movie myself and…whoah  . Those guys at Black Cyc sure can do good openings. I have to say that little techno beat made for a nice touch.

One thing Narg-san, didn’t Mushitsukai take place in a major city? I’m not really sure since you don’t really get much chance to explore it.

Still, I think you might be right about the whole split personality thing; I mean it would be a first for Black Cyc as far as I know and this game does seem to be going in a new direction for Black Cyc games. Another fact that lends that bit with them having exact measurements would be the fact that in the games I’ve played so far, the twins usually differ in that area. I mean comparing Mayu and Mana in terms of measurements well…, and also Sakurako and Mitsuruko might also differ, though it’s hard to say since their measurements aren’t on the site (or in the artbook that came with my game) and there’s only one set of CGs for them.

Anyway, I’m very interested to see how things turn out storywise (and of course erowise  ) when this game comes out. I especially can’t wait to find out what unique gameplay or gameplay-esque element Black Cyc is going to have in this. Too bad it looks like this game is going to follow the path of GSS and be 99% voiced, that’ll make things a bit difficult but if the story’s good, I probably won’t care soon into playing it.

On a side note, if this game indeed has some connection to MDB, we could still get a brief cameo. If this game takes place befor MDB, we might see some familiar vampire hunters deal with that riot. Or we might get another cameo from Eri. I mean since we’re now in a major city, and if this is connected to MDB, she might actually show up maybe for a concert performance especially if she’s become a famous singer by this point (she seemed to be getting pretty well known in GSS). Another thing that would make sense in her possibly making a cameo would be that, as Narg mentioned before, all the previous games take place in rural or sburb type locations, so perhaps the reason we haven’t seen her in any of the games lately and just heard mention is because she’d be in the cities.
Bear in mind though, either of these two probably aren’t going to happen, and just wishful thinking on my part(still a guy can dream, right?)

One more thing though, I read a summary for this game’s story (it was on Himeyashop) and the only other possibility that might explain why Sala isn’t shown together with Leonora might be because she’s supposed to retrieve Leonora. If you take a look at her expressions, I kind of get the feeling that she’s one of those kinds of characters who prefers to use her wits before her powers. Basically it looks like she might be manipulating things behind the scenes against Eiji and Leonora from the whole standing a distance behind them and then smiling in the beginning to the picture in 1:22 when it shows Eiji and Ru Fan fighting, she looks amused or something, like she wants this fight to be happening. Well whatever it happens to be, I’m sure we’ll find out in a little over a month (but between Force Unleashed, the new games from Mangagamer, possibly Princess Waltz, and this upcoming game, will my wallet survive?)

One last thing, it looked like there was a mention of some sort of CD thing at the end of the demo called ~Bigen Darkness Damnation~ which I assume is going to be the preorder bonus CD. With a title like that I kind of wonder if what will be on it.

You guys listen to the new VA samples on the character page? Lyui’s surprised me… I wouldn’t expect a girl who looked like that, to sound like that. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s gonna be dark and violent.

I’m REALLY looking forward to this title. I wasn’t too thrilled with Yami no Koe Zero. I mean don’t get me wrong: it’s a good game… but it just wasn’t the “badass ero” I was looking for. Sayoko is a powerful woman, but she doesn’t give off this “I’m so awesome and you know I’m so awesome” feeling. Shizuru, Gore, Tokiwara… they gave off that kind of style. Now we have Eiji.

Plus Black Cyc does “action movie” style ero really well. Zero couldn’t offer that kind of stuff… and it lacked the ambience that Gore Screaming Show, provided as a substitute. It’s pretty obvious that Before Dawn Daybreak is all about people kicking each other’s asses.

Yea. I think so too. I really love how they show the Black Cyc label as the song kicks off. It gives off this “badass seal of quality” feeling. They did the same for Gun-Katana. Earlier titles like Gore Screaming and EXTRAVAGANZA put the Black Cyc name at the end of the movie.

You’re right. Parts of it take place within a major city, but you never got a feel for the place. To me it just had moments in a major city… not actually being part of it. Probably why I forgot it took place there.

When Sakiyada has his way with them, he comments about their breasts being different… and give his observations about how… ahem… the lower body feels, I’d assume the twins have subtle hip differences. So while they were identical sisters, they still weren’t 100% the same.

Of course they could just be “clone twins” in BDD ¬ñ which the intro movie seems to hint as a possibility.

I’m sure Eri will be shown or mentioned. She’s a fixture in the recent Black Cyc titles, which proves they’re all connected: Gore Screaming Show, EXTRAVAGANZA, and Gun-Katana have something about her.

A really big thing that interests me, is that Black Cyc games seem to have the “Death Neko” (that demonic looking black cat) everywhere. BDD has a character who seems to be the real deal: Norma East!

Whatever those supernatural humans in the riot are, it pretty obvious they’re a product of the “evil corporation that wants to rule the world.” So even if they’re vampires or ghouls, the MinDeaD bloodsuckers are probably innocent of the crime.

Yea. She seems to be an evil mastermind type of baddie. Given that magic appears to be her offensive attacking power and she’s so frail looking, direct combat isn’t her forte. However she also has that air of arrogance about her: the kind of person who can’t stay hidden in the shadows forever, because she wants to gloat about how powerful and smart she is.

I think its pretty obvious that Sala ¬ñ be it a twin or alternate personality ¬ñ wants to spiritually break Leonora: and that means hurting Eiji when he becomes an important part of her life. She thrives on the misery of her opposite. But like all Black Cyc psychopaths, I’m sure there’s more to her story than just being a sadistic bitch. :o

And as we’ve seen in MinDeaD, vampires plus research experiments do not produce very pleasant results (at least for the experimenters). And since in those CGs, it looks like there are some guys trying to prevent the riot, but not having much success I’m definitely curious as to how chaotic things will become when the “evil corporation” ends up losing control of whatever their experiments are, which we know is going to happen as it’s happened in most Black Cyc games (and besides since when has any evil organization been able to completely control their experimental super weapon?).

Well let’s see, she’s a loli, has pale colored hair, wears dark clothing, is presented as the obvious main antagonist for our hero and heroines in the opening…Doesn’t that sound like a certain character from another Black Cyc game

Of course another thing I’m interested in is how Eiji and co. will deal with the “evil organization”. Obviously they fight it, but what I’m hoping for is a path (hopefully a harem path) where you take over the organization so YOU can…you guessed it take over the world

Sorry to pop in semi-randomly but I’m goanna be real busy over the next 2.5 days. anyway I had two questions

  1. how soon does a game arrive when ordered from himeyashop? I preordered sumaga and wanted to know when to expect it .

20 of the various other websites on here that have BDD cheaper than himeya why is that? are they selling used copies- because lurker no like used  also do any of these have BDD new with the preorder bonus?

If they have the items in stock, about one business week - unless its a preorder waiting for a release date; then its one business week after the release date. They’re pretty fast. One time I got an order within four days while in Virginia.

Short answer: Himeya is ripping our wallets off. The good news is that Himeya ALWAYS sends the order. They’re totally legit. I’m told Hobby Search is totally trustworthy. Palet Web is also the same. If you can order something cheaper from Hobby Search or Palet, then by all means do so. However Himeya seems to have the resources in finding REALLY hard to find titles. Even ero from the 1990’s. Problem is, you’ll pay anywhere between $100 to $200 for it. Basically Himeya is the rich man’s store. Nice if you can afford it, but suckage if you can’t.

Except for the phone cards, Black Cyc always packages the “first edition” bonus goodies inside the box. So if you get the first edition (i.e. the preorder), it will contain the omake CD and whatever else they plan to include (sometimes its the game’s soundtrack). Himeya charges extra for the phone cards. Don’t know if Hobby and Palet include the phone cards…

I’ve waited longer, occasionally, but never longer than two weeks. Himeya’s expensive but reliable, and they stock some old stuff. Palet is great, and, like Himeya, you can put in requests (and get some really hard-to-find stuff that way sometimes!) Hobby Search I haven’t tried, actually… I’ll keep that one in mind for next time.

Dark and violent is a given  - I guess I was referring more to the pacing of the game, the length of the missions, how do the different plot branches evolve etc. I’m sure the demo will answer some of those questions though. That’s probably what will determinate whether I pre-order or not, as I play Black Cyc games for the story, dark atmosphere, characters etc., rather than the sex.

On the subject of Black Cyc and ero… hmm, I was a bit disappointed that EXTRAVAGANZA didn’t have any ‘pure love’ H scenes; with a couple of exceptions, all of said exceptions being girl x mushi tentacle scenes =p Gore Screaming Show had a better mix, I felt. I’m not really sure WHY they chose this course of action (given that there’s obvious places where canon love scenes would go; i mean, they’re part of the story for crying out loud)-- mental image of the lead artist shouting ‘I’M NOT DRAWING THAT SORT OF SMUT. IF YOU DON’T LET ME DRAW ANOTHER TENTACLE RAPE SCENE I’M LEAVING!’

Ah… I gotcha now. However I have no doubt that Black Cyc intends to make BDD story intensive with memorable characters. Nearly all their titles are story intensive. They rarely fail to deliver, and given the sheer number of writers involved (many of them Cyc veterans), it might turn out to be their best. I’m going to preorder because the omake discs tend to add more to the overall story, or provide more information on how it relates to previous titles in the Black Cyc Universe (since they’re all interconnected). Only one Black Cyc title has ever TRULY disappointed me (and most everyone else it seems)… they’ve steered clear of that mistake ever since.

That’s because EXTRAVAGANZA is the sequel to a title that was about violent tentacles: pure love was the exception to the rule. You weren’t expected to find pure love… that was just an extra bonus. EXTRAVAGANZA is all about violent violation. When you get a pickup truck, you don’t expect it to outrun sports cars. EXTRAVAGANZA was all about the slimy appendages. Mwa, ha, ha, ha! 8)

so if my order isnt here in afew weeks dont go apeshit in other words?

also just to cont ribute

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9N3ghDo2SlE

it appears BDD has already had its intro uploaded to youtube . I like how presumably the uploader tried to edit out all nudity only to miss one scene -lulz.

I’ll admit I was probably comparing Extravaganza to the title I was hoping it was going to be, and found it lacking in that regard. I just feel I would like Extravaganza better if BLACK CYC liked drawing tentacle rape a bit less than they do. =P

The playable demo has been released.

Downloading it now.

Twincest, wincest, twins are best!

EDIT

Oh hell yes! I LOVE WHAT I’VE SEEN SO FAR!!!

I like the “split screen” effect for conversations, the music kicks so much ass (and then some), the voice acting is awesome, the characters are lovable. You also get to explore the city a bit, and absorb the “setting” into your mind. The only thing that I found a little odd, was how the artist draws facial expressions (Sharon’s mouth is HUEG), but I find myself liking it regardless.

OMG! And the fight scenes are fantastic! Eiji is a pure badass. He does indeed Gun-Kata. You must also fear the kuro neko grim reaper.

The twincest are not the same person. They are two individuals.

First sex scene with Leona was a bit “rushed and force” to me… but that just goes with the territory I think.

Sara is a cold hearted selfish bitch… how I love her.

The preorder goodies includes a music CD with the opening and ending theme song (plus karaoke version). Also depending where you preorder, you get a bonus eroge sidestory CD.

http://www.cyc-soft.com/b-cyc-pro/bdd/t … okuten.htm

Naturally there are phone cards as well. One of them, has the twincest SHARING (all the way at the bottom; left hand side) - Narg must somehow get that.

I believe those in the Cyc Members club, will be able to buy these extra’s from the membership site.

I’m still playing the demo due to time constraints. Still, I have to agree that this looks like it’s going to be a good game alright, I’m liking the characters that I’ve met so far. I also have to agree the split screen effect is handled very well, it’s almost like with some RPGs or a game we’d see on the DS.

Another thing I found interesting is that despite the fact that it seems to have a location based thing like MinDead and Gun Katana, there’s a job selection screen before hand. If the jobs you choose to do effect the outcome of the story then I’ll really enjoy this game. Basically I find this job thing to be appealing to me much in the same way that I found Arc The Lad 2 and 3’s job system to be entertaining in the fact that the jobs you take actually have some sort of story to them (unlike with the job system of Final Fantasy which are basically ‘get this item’ or ‘go kill this monster’ and that’s it).

In any case, I’ll be preordering this goodie ASAP.

On a side note, I’m not sure if anyone’s noticed but from the looks of things in each Black Cyc game’s main character seems to be their take on a character type. Perhaps I can explain this better; MinDead’s Shizuru hails from the Dante and Vergil Sparda school of main characters, GSS’ Kyouji from the eroge/harem anime school of main characters, Mushitsukai’s Ren (I don’t know if he’s portrayed any different in Extravaganza as I haven’t gotten far in it) hails from the uber serious tragic past bishounen school of main characters (too many to name). Not sure where exactly to classify Himena.
Our newcomer Eiji seems to hail from the Spike Spiegel school of main characters.

The BDD site has been updated. I’ve played the demo, and am still unsure about whether to pre-order or not. It didn’t grab me in the same way that MinDead Blood or Gun Katana did, and the characters don’t seem to be as interesting. Still… I guess there’s still a few weeks left to think about it.

On a much more important note, after releasing the Hinakin box last month and the Yami no Koe box earlier this year, Black Cyc have announced the Full Metal BOX. Musashi, Gore Screaming Show, EXTRAVAGANZA and Gun Katana, plus lots of extras. I kind of wish that I hadn’t bought Gun Katana now :P, but since I don’t own the other three games I’ll probably get this (I hope this doesn’t mean that ???'s leaving Black Cyc though :?).

Edit: Had a look through his website, and his diary mentions that’s he’s left Black Cyc… :frowning:

Well… that’s just… well…

DAMN IT!!!

Looks like he’s trying to move his career in the mainstream. Actually I’m not all that surprised by this mass exodus of talent. It was bound to happen sooner or later, given how skilled they are. Fans on 2chan have indicated Denkare (the New Wave of Death Neko Metal band) is not going to be a Black Cyc regular anymore as well. And for the last year, Cyc has been hiring people for all sorts of positions. I hope it doesn’t represent the end of an era for dark ero though… Cyc had become the beacon of quality. I suppose one good news, is that the in-house Scenario Writers and Voice Actresses haven’t left yet.

Actually, the writer for MinDead Blood, EXTRAVAGANZA etc. went freelance in 2007. I think it was mentioned somewhere on his webpage, but it’s easy to tell from seeing the games he’s worked on url=http://erogamescape.dyndns.org/~ap2/ero/toukei_kaiseki/creater.php?creater=1614[/url] - only Cyc titles until the end of 2006, but after that he’s written for lots of different companies… Black Cyc must have hired him to work on BDD.

On a brighter note, they’ve formed a doujin circle, and they seem to be working on a new eroge.

Hey your right! Surprised I never caught that. Then again, all his non-Cyc titles seem to suck. I never gave any of them the time of day, given how uninteresting the plot summaries were, and the rather low reviews I saw. I have been waiting for the release of ??? (mentioned it in the twincest is best thread), but didn’t look to see who wrote it. It had twincest, so that’s all the incentive Narg needed. Kept away from Mashou no Nie 2, ever since MG came around. Figured I wait and see if they’d translate and uncensor the title. :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe he’s just seen the light, and returned to the fold? :o

LOL! Looks more like a Black Cyc fan site, given the whole use of Black/White and the Death Neko. Guess that’s proof the exodus was on good terms (in that they can use their old employer’s trademarks). Then again, given how lax the Japanese trademark system is to begin with… 8)

EDIT
Ugh… amazes me how the erogamescape community is already rating BDD, when the game isn’t even out yet. More reason why I ignore the damn place.

That’s normal. Furthermore, I don’t believe ratings given before the game’s release count after the game’s release. It’s useful in determining how much people are looking forward to certain titles.
