I must say, I spent some time reading through his articles and his reviews. Very well done. He has a lot of needed background info, and a lot of data not normally presented in the States.
If nothing else, he even mentions quotes from Kumiko, and games from Himeya-Soft.
Very keen find Kumiko-chan.

A very good article about bishojo games. I like the fact that it covered the history as well as the different types of games. I can remember when the first U.S. adult computer game that made the news here. It had a naked General Custer dodging arrows so he could have sex with a tied up Indian girl. Lot of people were not happy with this game(Indians, Feminist,Liberals and others)
But what I like to know is that when Peach Princess is successful will you be bring over some of the brutish games that this article talks about(S&M Training sim or the rape/revenge games). They mention one called Oni as a rape/revenge game(Himeya describes it as a “school insult game” don’t know what the difference is)and then mentions that Crowd has one out as well “Fukushuu-Ryojoku no yaiba”(sorry don’t know what the translation is). I have gone to Crowd’s website and found what I think is the game and have looked at the screen shots.
I would like to say that I would not buy it but I find myself think about the fact that rape has been used through out human history as a tool for revenge and I find myself thinking “what did these girls do to the male chara to make him want to rape them for revenge” then I find myself fascinated by the idea. I also hear a voice calling “Luke come to the Darkside.”(Sorry that just the VCR in the other room playing SW:ESB)
At this point when I think of these games it is “Yes” then “No” and then “Maybe?” If Peach Princess ports these types of games over I will probably have to see what the synopses of the games story lines are before I buy one “Luke come to the Darkside.” There is that voice again, isn’t that tape over yet.

"Anger, Fear, give in to them, you must not."
Actually many of those games are made to cater for the various “needs” of the Japanese Male. Some of them like dominating over females and controlling them, that’s why we have the “Kichiku” (¬ãS’{) genre. Some of them like the girls young, that’s why we have the “loli” (¬É¬ç¬É¬ä) genre etc…
Summing the above up,it alls boils down to what the Japanese Males wants.
Seldom do the genre sees a release with a deep story (Remember, the scene is driven by what the Males “wants”) and the scene had already been saturated with High/Truth-Colour arts. That’s why KEY’s release is able to do well year after year.
Yup, agree. Key’s works are popular with female gamers, as are those that tend to be sentimental. If I’m right, bishoujo mystery games are another.
PS: Orochi, just bought an Ayu tapestry (170cm tall). Are interested in one?

But just wondering,is Himeya still active ? Does not appear so to me…
Himeya seems to be very much alive. Very much, in fact–they’ve finally put up their Japanese website. Try typing www.himeya.com and then click on the link to redirect you to the English site. Looks fine to me.
Yes, got one (the Ayu tapestry). Was thinking of getting the Air tapestry but the shop in Akiba didn’t have it. Also got two Kanon glasses, but they’re not for sale.
