Bishoujo news

www.insertcredit.com is a great news site that also often covers news about bishoujo games in Japan

Here’s recent news postings from them relating to bishoujo games:

News: To Heart 2
To Heart 2 finally has an official site. And the anime will release this october. Thanks to zepy for the link.

News: Green Green 2&3
Groover has announced that they will be making two sequels to the popular love sim/anime Green Green. Green Green 2 will be released on october 29th, 3 will be in 2005.

News: Clover/RIP NEC
This is as good a time as any to tell you all that NEC is no longer in the game industry (aside from chips and such). They have sold of their holdings in NEC Interchannel, their publishing house, and last remnants of what was once a huge gaming group. The US branch, interviewed here in 2003, has long since dissolved. Interchannel (minus the NEC) carries on with clover, a love sim port from the PC original. The PS2 original contents will include an extra, and original event CG. Incidentally - this may mean that Black Matrix OO for PSone is the final NEC game of all time. Clover releases on August 26th - 7,800 for the ltd (with audio drama CD), 6,800 for the standard.

News: Clannad RPG
Doujin group Chinchilla has announced plans to release a Clannad RPG (based on the visual novel by the same name). Looks quite nice - click the links on the page for character illustrations. Thanks to Zepy.

That is interesting news about To Heart 2 starting to air in Japan. Isn’t To Heart going to be released on Region 1 DVD sometime before the end of this year?

More news, straight from InsertCredit:

News: Baldr Force EXE
Baldr Force EXE, the latest in a long line of Last Dreamcast Games Ever, has finally got a release date. It’s due out on the 29th of October for 7,455 yen. But there’s more! They’ve decided to go limited-only with this one, in the sense that you’ll be paying more than for a normal game, but you’ll get an action figure with it. Check some shots of it (and of the CG) at Game Watch. If you’re looking for gameplay shots, check this april report. The CERO rating isn’t out for this one yet, but the original PC version was an H title. For those who’ve not heard of it previously, the game is basically a story driven 2D mech action blast-fest, and the latest in a rather positively reviewed series. The official site has been updated as well - downloads to come.

News: Illusion updates
Lech has posted a summary of the latest news from Illusion (info not work safe) in the forums, and Panovich has added supplemental impressions of their latest released work.

They also fixed an error with a previous news entry.

News: To Heart 1.5
To Heart Remember my memories finally has an official site. And the anime will release this october. Thanks to zepy for the link.

Edit: and of course, this is not To Heart 2, but a psuedo sequel to 1, making it 1.5. This would be the most errors ever in one day. Time to give up!

Yeah the new to heart anime is about to come out. But wonder if they are going to make it a sequel or they gonna just make a alternate univers to the origional to heart?

Oh and my guess is that TSRI will probably get to heart out sometime in the spring of 2005. It seems kinda fast for them to be able to have it out by this year considering they just announced it, unless they had it for a while without telling anyone.

It’s a bit off-topic. Since Japan had so many bishoujo game adapted anime from last year, a series based on shoujo manga was shown on mid-night Japanese TV. It’s called Maria-sama ga miteru(Virgin Mary is Watching Us). It’s a refreshing expereince. It’s recommended for all bishoujo game(and bishoujo) lovers.

Ahh the hot yuri action anime heh sorry but that’s all I hear fans of that show talk about

I cannot remember which site, because I have looked at a lot recently, but at least one or two mentioned a very late December release date.

Hoping for the games now? I am but from what others say at present, odds are not great unless a new company starts up that has deals directly with the companies that produce those games and has direct access and less roadblocks to getting them out.

I have seen the second volume at Barnes and Noble, Waldenbooks and Books-A-Million, at least the local ones of each of those stores, however keep in mind it only “officially” came out yesterday.

Actually, it officially came out last week Tuesday, not yesterday. I got mine from Borders.

Wow, amazing that this would finally come out.

And I’m back with some more bishoujo news!

As far as Baldr Force EXE for Dreamcast is concerned, I am currently playing it and the H-scenes are gone. There are other differences too and I’ve been doing a running inventory of them here: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=949&topic=17414540

Oh and the info about the game being a limited only run is incorrect. I preordered this one months ago, and all I got was the game in its case. No action figure or poster for me so there must be a real limited edition version.

Well, mail them the correction then.

hmmm…12/28 for to heart 2…better get a ps2 console soon…

InsertCredit also lists the Bishoujo game article from Wikipedia!

You know, Wikipedia should correct some mistakes, like mentioning True Love being published by Jast USA, and in 1994, at that…

The game’s own Wikipedia page is correct, though.

Can't say I'm massively surprised about this. I'm curious to why they didn't go multi format and just what was taking them so long, surely the coding wouldn't take very long on a simple PC to Xbox port. Would sprucing up the art take more than two years?
