Brave Soul == Scrapped Princess!

Hello all!

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the Brave Soul game, and I’ve been watching fansubs of the anime Scrapped Princess (http://www.sutepri.com/), and I’ve noticed that the character designs are very similar!

Looks like the character designer who worked on Brave Soul also worked on Scrapped Princess. For instance, Zefiris (the blue haired girl in Scrapped Princess) is another Rei Ayanami look-alike! The Scrapped Princess herself has curls just like Ruby in Brave Soul. Shannon (the black-haired guy in S.P.) looks like Rudy in B.S. Winnia the red-head looks like Marine in B.S., except she’s not a cat-gir1! Winnia also has a costume similar to Karen in B.S., including the oval crystal between her breasts.

Anyone else watch Scrapped Princess and notice other similarities? The anime has an interesting plot, likeable characters, great swordplay, and a very interesting depiction of magic–almost as if it’s the result of some high technology at work!

I know modugan (chara designer for BS) goes under a different name for other stuff (this applies to myself as well). I forgot what his other name is, but I think you are right on this (well, at least the original piece not the anime itself).

For those who came to AXNY last year, just so happens the dealer next to peapri put up a poster of scrapped princess facing peapri’s booth, and that poster is actual CG by modugan himself…for those who are good at remembering stuff (because when I first saw that poster I was discussing with the japanese staff if it was modugan’s CG)

I can confirm that Mogudan is the illustrator for the Scrapped Princess novels.

Under a different alias, of course.
