I know Sailor Moon is the original magic girl series, but I still think it has a daunting task of outdoing the grimdark deconstruction that is Madoka.

You’re right of course… but still… Madoka really upped the bar of expectation the magic girl genre.
Like magic girl battles ([color=red]don’t click that link if you haven’t seen the third Madoka movie[/color]). How is Sailor Moon gonna top that? I can’t wait to see… but I’m not gonna get my hopes too high…
