Chobits... now, this is hypocrisy

Okay... so, Tokyopop acquired Chobits, CLAMP's bishoujo manga that began last fall.

Now... they did this, despite the fact that they don't want to carry our games (from what we were told, they feel their customers don't want such an adult product) and despite the fact that Chobits is extremely erotic (naturally... it's a bishoujo work, after all.)

Does this seem just a wee bit hypocritical? Not that it helps us to recognize that fact as far as selling our own products...

Really??? I saw Chobits manga arrived Asahiya Bookstore in midtown Manhattan, NY as I still bought bilingual comics: Ah My Goddess (arrived last week), Love Hina, GTO, and Card Captor Sakura. I thought Chobits was Clover manga sequel because I noticed cover was similar to mixing of Clover and Angelic Layer artwork. I will shop again and read Chobits.

No - basically, CCSakura was a warm-up for Chobits. Dave E saw this coming - pardon the pun - as soon as CCSakura began. He figured that Miyuki-chan In Wonderland had already proven that CLAMP understood bishoujo as well as shoujo material - after all, shoujo mangaka such as Yuu Asagiri (Midnight Panther) have switched to bishoujo. As we've pointed out, the two genres share many of the same elements because their focus is the same, so it's not too tough, really.

Chobits is set in the near future when humanoid androids exist. A young boy happens to discover a discarded, broken young girl android in a trash heap - she doesn't really work properly, so all she can say when he takes her home is "Chii" (which is what he names her.) Her "On" button is her clitoris... this should go over quite well if they try to market it as a general audience title, don't you think?

I do shop three bookstores (Asahiya Bookstore, Kinokuniya Bookstore, and OCS Bookstore) in Midtown Manhattan (44th Street & Lexington St. to 49th Street & 5th Ave.) CCS bilingual vol. 12 will arrive next year. You are right as available to vol 6 as new bilingual volume book release every 2 to 4 months. I have full japanese CCS vol 12, and Love Hina vol 13. Love Hina bilingual comic is available to vol 8.

I heard Kodansha has ceased all exports of the Bilingual comics, it may be disputes with the licensees here in the states, which is understandable, since the bilingual comics are a fraction of the cost of their American licensed product albeit smaller, and in the case of TokyoPop an even better translation. So, it may not be so easy to get ahold of those Bilingual comics that you were hoping to get before

Are you sure Love Hina will be out until 13?
From what I heard from my friends who have already read book13, they say that there will be a book 14!

HAPPY

i started out reading the English CCS books, though, theyre a little slow about releasing more, so im switching over to the bilingual versions
any idea if the english and bilingual books have the same content/length? i am on english vol4 it contains installments 15-18
will bilingual vol5 start at 19?

er…how recently did they stop exporting bilingual books?

Damn, I think bishojo games are much more interesting that manga, and nowthey won 't to do anymore with bishojo games ? Moreover, the games do have much more of a story than those manga
… I thought bishojo in general are on the same side ? ugh

Sorry, I forget typing some words sometimes

Now… they did this, despite the fact that they don’t want to carry our games (from what we were told, they feel their customers don’t want such an adult product) and despite the fact that Chobits is extremely erotic (naturally… it’s a bishoujo work, after all.)

→ Why don 't they want to ? And hell, what do they know about comsumer 's demand of bishojo games.

So they both refused even though there is enough interested proven by the polls ?
