Crescendo Specs

You’re more than qualified. Crescendo requires a minimum of 166mhz. RAM, for games such as these, aren’t really important. Well, I think so, anyway. If you don’t meet RAM requirements, then the minimum for that is usually 128MB. In which case, you can just send the game over to me since you can’t play it. I’ll pay for the shipping.

youre going to need about 900+ megs of harddrive space too
i had to make space to install my copy

Hmm, if I hadn’t just upgraded my compuer I would have been able to give you a good answer. But I would agree that probably your RAM is the problem. Just Windows 98 would take up quite a bit of that. If you bump that up slightly, you should be alright. I was able to play all the previous G-Coll. games using a 266Mhz and 96MB RAM computer and I doubt Crescendo would have jumped up that much in memory usage compared to those.

I don’t think you need to worry about anything. these games dont require 128 megs of ram from what I have played. Its not like you are crunching polys or sprites. I wouldn’t give it a second though. If you were to upgrade your ram, dont bother going past 128 megs of ram. Hell, I played baldurs gate and diablo on a p200 with 96 megs of ram. If you can’t play a b-game on a 900mhz machine then there is something wrong lol.

gah! Why can't the people at G-col follow what Pea Pri does? Have various levels of installation. My poor comp has soooo little space left. Too many b-games

Anyway, I already sent in the money to Pea Pri for the game. I hope this works.

Oh, BTW. It looks like I'll be getting Brave Soul AND Crescendo at the same time. What would you guys recomend I play first?

just cut your SAV file and paste it on your desktop or a safe folder then uninstall the game !! this way you will save the CG's so when you install the game again just paste the SAV file you cut and paste it on the folder where your game is installed. Overwrite the new Sav file created by the installation with your old one !! That way you will still have all the CG's !!! I hope this solves your problem !! Or do like I do and burn the completed Save Game files to CD-R’s

What is the extension, of that is the correct word for the .SAV (or whatever), for the saved games and for the save game directory? Is it just SAV, and will that save the CG's as well or do they have another extension?

The name of the file isn't SAV !!! .SAV is the "type of file" , for example in "Tottemo Pheromone" it is named "Silk2Us.SAV" , and all your saved games and CG's are saved in that file !!!

You can buy a 120GB hard drive for $65.... Hard drive space is easy to come by nowadays.

Cool thank you. Is that standard for most of these games that .SAV represents the type of file for the saved games?

Not really, but it shouldn’t be hard for you to find out what file is the save file for the game. Usually they are in a folder called save I normally don’t bother doing what you are doing since I have an abundance of HD space

Thank you again. Oh I have a lot of space, but I want to ensure I keep a lot of space since each of these games seems to take slightly more then the last.

well, almost all of the hard drives I know go through a USB port.. and guess what? The USB ports aren't working on my comp.. so now the CD Burner I have is pretty much useless since it goes through a USB port too. And I don't want to go through the trouble of having another internal hard drive.

As for the Sav files.. well.. I like to keep the games that I REALLY like installed.. I go to them often. Oh well.. I guess I'll play BS first since it has the option of installing very little of the program to the comp.

That is my problem I like to keep the ones I enjoy on the computer and each of the new ones I enjoy and each one takes up more memory then the last one, which is why I might someday want to save the SAV files and not feel horrible about having to take the games themselves off.

I've been doing the .SAV thing for some time so it should work perfectly !!! My computer is filled with a lot of games not only B-games thats why I've been doing it for some time now to save some space !!!! Maybe I should buy a new hard drive !!!! They are mostly these types of games because I have to choose which I want to spend time on and I have choosen these types of games, but still they are filling up my hard drive slowly but surely, so it would be nice to keep the save files.
