Excuse me? Trap protagonists are universally cute. Trap heroines are not, obviously (so cancel out Happiness, at least).
Rui wa Tomo wo Yobu is by far the best one, but Koisuru Otome to Shugo no Tate and Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru are good stuff, too. OtoBoku, however, would have been a much better story if the protagonist was a girl, not a trap (which makes you wonder what the whole point was, but whatever). I can’t really fault it for that, though, because lots of games would have been better if the protagonist was female (Little Busters! being the most obvious example) - it seems that companies are scared of making female protagonists unless the winnable characters are male for some bizarre reason.

Anyway, i forgot there is more than one kind of trap: the ‘(somehow) hetero but forced for some circunstances to become a trap’ kind, and the homo kind.
Dunno if male characters who look feminine can be considerated TRAPs, too. 
I think traps are cute, too (although I prefer reverse-traps.)

Traps: Good protagonists.
Reverse traps: Good heroines.
Of course, I have yet to see a reverse-trap eroge protagonist, but that much combined awesomeness is probably too much for any eroge to contain.

Either kind of trap character is, by definition, cute enough to be able to pull off the ambiguity. Cute things are, in general, always preferable to non-cute things. If the dude looks like a lady, then h-scenes involving him and real ladies are closer to lesbian h-scenes. And if there’s one thing we need more of, it’s lesbian h-scenes.
Edit: Yes, yes, equal opportunity and all that: another thing we need more of is yaoi h-scenes. It’s just that I don’t need more of those
Not fair. Yaoi has already has two representatives in the market, Absolute Obedience and Enzai. Yuri is yet to have their place, at least English subbed yuri is.
Go buy Stainless Night. Sure, a large part of it is actually futa, but it’s 100% futa-on-girl or girl-on-girl.
I have absolutely no problem with the cross dressing thing, as most anime men are so androginous anyway. I’m not gay, but I’d do all sorts of nasty things with Shun from “Here is Greenwood”. (the anime and manga) Mind you, girls cross dressing as guys is always cuter - in my opinion - so long as they actually pull it off and don’t have their huge breasts bursting through their shirts and ruining the illusion.
Like someone else said, the sex scenes tend to have a much better near-lesbian quality to them which is certainly something I’m always happy to see. I would love to see more English subbed games with lesbian characters … especially female protagonists with potential lesbian storylines.
I think the initial rejection many guys feel when they consider the genre comes from that horror born in middle school and high school … the fable of the guy who brought a girl home for sex only to discover she was more than she seemed … ahem. Me, I think if the guy had pulled off the glamour really well, and he was shaved, I could probably overlook it … there are things I still wouldn’t do - for certain - but if (s)he can pull off the “I’m just a girl with a penis” vibe well enough … that’s what prostates are for. (Though, unfortunately I think that level of glamour is very rare, almost exclusively the property of anime and manga type stories … still, if I had the chance to stumble upon Shun Kisaragi, I probably wouldn’t complain too much. [yeah, I’ve got a thing for the character])
