Decisions, decisions

I finally decided on buying a game…
It was a tough decision: since I live in Portugal, I’ll probably be paying more for the shipping costs than for the game itself

Anyway, I am now facing an even tougher dillema:

Which one should I get?

I am trying to decide between purchasing Water Closet or waiting a while so that I can get Critical Point or Gibo (those are the ones that appeal to me the most right now)…

Oh, and Kumiko-Chan (you don’t mind me calling you that, do you?), your opinion is welcome too

Critical Point Limited Edition is out already…
get that, limited edition is better than the normal one

hmmmh
i know
get all of them
shippping will be cheaper if you get them all at once

Well, I thinkt hat Kumiko-chan will suggest that you buy all the games (she always does ), but if I may suggest, you should get Critical Point LE first (just my perosnal opinion ), but I’d also suggest that you order both Critical Point LE and Water Closet; in that way you’ll get them a little cheaper (and you could pre-order Gibo as well).

Depends. What are you looking for in the game you’re willing to buy? WC is definitely funnier than CP, but CP has a better story and plot…

As soon as I get more money, I think I’ll buy another Peach Princess game as a present.

I’ve purchased all of them titles availible and it is about time I buy another copy to give to a friend to try out.

sigh I’m sad, because if Peach Princess does not succeed this genre will probably be lost to the native English speaking market.

Well, what are exactly the diferences between CP LE and CP RE? The only one that I am aware of is the censorship mosaic in the Limited Edition… And I honestly hate the censorship mosaic… Actually, I think it’s the only kind of mosaic that I hate

My problem is that I cannot decide between Water Closet and Critical Point exactly for that: I can’t decide if I want a funny game or one with a good plot.

I like both kinds of game equally… Up until now, I only played bishoujo games that a friend of many has (I borrowed them)… I love both the funny games (like Amy’s Fantasies) and the ones with good plots (like Desire, Divi-Dead, etc)…

Therefore, I cannot decide…

I’m downloading the Critical Point Demo, as it will probably help me decide.

Oh, and if I could, I would buy them all right now

Maybe I’ll order more than one, though… At least I’ll pay less for the shipping costs!

And I hope that Peach Princess achieves it’s goals… Actually, that is why I’m going to start buying the games myself…

The LE edition is unedited, i.e. you have the pics exactly as they are in the Japanese version. The regular version is edited, i.e. the original pics are redrawn to fit Western tastes.

Will CP (normal edition) have the animated eyes and mouths?

actually the odd US demmand for no mosaics is kind of a bad thing for bishoujo gaming
the origional artwork has mosaics, so it costs time and money to redraw the artwork-time and money that PeachPrincess does not have
i think it is also a sign that the US is not totally accepting the genre-very very bad

I agree. If the world outside of Japan could accept mosaiced works, the genre might have a better chance of taking off - and if that happened and there was much more demand for the games, companies like Peach Princess would have the resouces to remove the mosaic for those who prefer the edited works.

Imagine if bishoujo games became as popular as anime is and there where lots of companies making bishoujo games, some would probably even start dubbing them too.

Would that be a good thing or a bad thing? (*Briefly recalls what happened to Graduation 2 and winces*)

It would really depend on the quality. If it was Graduation II quality, it’s a very bad thing, on the other hand, if it’s Tenchi Muyo quality dubbing, it would be awsome.

Oh, don’t get me wrong… I was exagerating a bit on my last post…

I wouldn’t mind if there were only mosaic versions around- but if I can get an uncensored one, I preffer the later…

And I’m not American I’m Portuguese.

-No, the only thing different are the removal of the mosaics.

I have to agree with you there. As much as I enjoy Graduation II, I just can't bring myself to play it with the voices on...

Actually, I'm looking forward to eventually getting a game with the male voices included. It's kinda funny but I'm so used to hearing the Japanese and reading the English text at the same time (and matching up words here and there) that when I played CP and a male character was talking, it actually would throw me off for a bit. Then, play the Japanese game, Ekylo-san! And while you're at it, you should also play to the first game. I mean, the seiyuus in the first game include Touma Yumi, Tsuru Hiromi and Hisakawa Aya!!!!

But Kimiko-Chan, wouldn’t it actually be better for you if people bought the Regular Edition of Critical Point, in order to justify all the hard work that was placed in it?

As for what you said about the difference amongst cultures, it’s true… As I said, I live in Europe, but I have some relatives in the USA… Although Europe and the US are quite similar in culture, the difference amongst is actually much bigger than I had imagined…

Oh, and just to make it clear: I wouldn’t mind if there were only censored versions of the games: I would be quite happy to play them in a language that I understand (I am learning japanese, but I need more practice)… But since there are version that are uncensored, I preffer those…

I like to think of myself as someone that accepts other cultures: I know that there will always be some things that I will not be able to accept, and it would be hypocrital for me to say that “I am extremelly open-minded and I accept all cultures.” But I try, and I can assure you that mosaics are not one of the things I can’t accept
