Wow, C’s Ware’s grand experiment Emi to Yobanaide is getting a sequel, I can’t tell much from the product page but it looks like they will be using the Lucid Motion 2 engine. Pity Himeya Soft is pretty much out of the business of translating Bishoujo games now, this would be one title I’d definitely want to check out.

Dude, but Emi to Yobanaide is awesome, I’d love to see a sequel.
Is that what that kanji meant? I could read the rest of it but not that part of the sentence.
Does anyone know of a good free translator? I use Altavista’s Babelfish (don’t panic) but their translator isn’t very good.
Babelfish is the main one I use as well. I did pick up some translation software a while back but even that’s only slightly better than babelfish. I mean, for an even decent translation through software, you’re talking some major programming going on and that wouldn’t be cheap.
As for online translators I usually use either Worldlingo or Babelfish. Between the both of them I can usually get most of the kanji translated. Of course understading what got translated is a totally different story
Yeah, I can read hirogana, but a lot of times I don’t know what I’m reading, and I understand a little katakana, but when it comes to a genuine japanese site, I’m lost, so I rely on those online translators, which don’t correctly translate a lot of words, which sucks for me.
It took a few years for my friends to learn to ask me if I could understand something rather than whether I could read it. For me, my Japanese vocabulary is rather hit or miss, so I usually have to use a translator to help suppliment my knowledge. Still left with a lot of “okay, that couldn’t be right…” moments though…

In my experience as a translator, the terms "good" and "free" are synomous with "oil" and "water". You get what you pay for.
