First Thoughts on X-Change

Hey all,

Well my copy of X-change arrived! I haven’t had the chance yet to play it, but I must say, I really like the cover spread. Very well done Peach Princess.

However, I think the Microsoft Windows window is a Registered Trademark, and not just a trademark. You really should check this. Improper use of Registered Trademarks can get you in a lot of trouble. And mis-labeling a registered trademark can get you in a lot of trouble as well. And, if you mention the Windows logo trademark, why not mention that the Peach Princess and Crowd pics are trademarks as well.

I really like the DVD case you selected for this. My CD pops right out without any hassle. Good choice. And, the lack of a box saves packaging (which I also like since I’m a part-time tree hugger.)

I am kinda disappointed in the insert/manual. I was hoping to at least get a small, black-and-white instruction booklet. The kind you see in Play Station games. The flyer just seems… cheap. You put such effort into the jacket and the silk screen on the disk, that the flyer detracts from it.

Anyway, just some quick comments. I’ll give you all more when I actually play the game.

Mike

Hmmmmmmmm…

10 U.S dollars…@@…O_O…

Ok…I would be glad to be one of the first volunteers to participate in such a survey…And my answer is…It is way too much to pay 10 U.S dollars for a manual…If I could have it instead for free on the cd…

Moreover, instead of having 4 games and 4 manuals, I would prefer having 4 games and another game, thus making it 5 games in total…I am sure that PeaPri will be translating more games, and it will be economical in the long run to save that additional 10$…

Furthermore, I am sure that the manual will only contain words and pictures…That’s it!!!..OK…Nice pictures though… …But…10 U.S dollars for a manual…**…

It is true that I will be glad to pay exactly 100 canadian dollars for a game…but I will be paying for the game…And the only reason I pay for the games is mainly because of the story…( and also for the pictures…of course…^^ )…Anyway, pictures alone do not give me any enjoyment…If it is so, I would instead waste my money for adult magazines and porn movies…which I don’t like…Besides…they just do not have those big, shimmering eyes…

Finally, I am not paying 10$, but more than 16$ in my currency…And to tell you the truth, I could rent 8 adult or non-adult animes in my local Japanimation store with that kind of money…And I could also use that 16$ instead to buy two great books of 600+ pages…my usual, monthly expense for my reading…Not to mention, the value of the canadian dollar is dropping again…lousy Nortel…

But, who am I kidding, I will still be paying for that manual if Peapri wants it that way…The scarcity of bishoujo games makes it so…Unless the majority sides with Peapri, I will not respect that additional 10$…We live in a democratic society…and an economy controlled by the balance of demands and offer, so I have no problem if Peapri follows this social concept…If not…I really do not know where to go…unless…if I…

Oh, well…hope my insight helps…v ^^

i think you should keep prices as low as possible

the English Bishojo-Game market is currently small and vulnerable, it needs to be as competitive as possible

some of your products are approaching HalfLife/Quake/UT prices
this is a weakness
consider the amount of cash people invest into their 3d accelerator cards
it will be hard to compete with that sort of popularity

"Dreams are strange."

The only problem I Had with X-Change was the second Bus ride, which I felt was too gratuitous. (You’ll know when you get there.)

Hey,

You already received the game but didn 't play it yet ??? Baka (j/k) LOL. So how long does it usually take to have the pay process done after sending a money order ?

Hey,

Kumiko don 't tell too much !!! LOL
Ok, it is sales@peachprincess.com ne ?

Wow I didn’t think my post would generate this much response!

Anyway Quint (and Kumiko/Peach Princess), the reason I suggested the manual is I would consider it an omake. Sure it might make the game 5$ - 10$ possibly 15$ more expensive, but I like reading the manuals. Seeing sketches of the characters that you can’t find in the games; or just being able to thumb through it and see one of your heroines outside the game is neat to me.

Criminy I picked up the Hint Book for Thousand Arms and Valkyrie Profile not for the hints, but on the chance to get some extra art from the game. That’s what a well designed, color manual would give me. Additional access to the great art contained in the game.

So, I wouldn’t mind paying a few extra bucks for a game, if it contained a manual. I don’t need to eat out every night

Hey,

if there is a manual on the cd, that suits me fine

Arigatou

I don’t have a problem with a manual on the CD as long as I can Print it out.

First off my opinions of the cosmetics, I have no problem with the games current manual it suits me fine. I like Mike Thomas like the DVD case the game came in. Now to the game itself. There were three things that disappointed me about the game; none of which Peach Princess could really have done anything about. First I found the game on the short side as I got all seven endings rather quickly. Second I was disappointed that you are unable to fight back in some of the scene when taken by force (example the bus scene and others). Third and finally I was hoping for a little more girl/girl action . In summary I was disappointed that the game was so short, and I wish there were some hidden Easter eggs/additional scenes/added bonuses that I could quest for.

Hey,

Argg don 't tell too much !!!

Now that is a option: printable manuals

Woh! The board is back again! While we were out, I received my copy of the game, and here are my comments:

The Good: An interesting game, finally after a long drought. You can save whenever you want.

The Bad: Short. There is not enough character development.

The Ugly: When I received my copy, the CD was loose inside the DVD case. Fortunately, no (noticeable) scratches, and was able to play the game.

Other comments:

a) Could you make the non-stop function a bit “slower”? The first time, I pressed it by mistake, and before I knew it, it was already on the next “question”.

b) Is Kamiyama Midori related to Kamiyama Kumiko? OK, silly question here…

Umm... "non-stop" actually is a standard to skip to the next "question". By "standard", Kumiko means that it's a standard option in most any adventure game, so it's supposed to operate that way. Usually the setting just below that is "high speed" or "fast speed", which is normally where the text just "pops up" into the window, as opposed to being "teletyped" into the window. Does that help?

Don't worry about the CD. As I wrote, I was able to play without any problems.

I am aware about the non-stop button on other games, however, it was just my comment, as I pressed it "accidentally" the first time.

Go ahead, Kumiko-san, make fun of me.

Now that we’ve played X-Change, Any chance that by the end of this year we’ll see X-Change 2?
