Game length!

Hi everyone,

I was just going over the 1st X-change game again and was thinking how quickly you can reach some of the endings. I’m thinking of buying x-change 2, is it longer than the first one?

It also made me interested to hear from you guys and gals what is a good playing time to reach one ending?? 30 mins, 1 hr, 4hrs?!
(assuming we read the story and don’t just speed thru for the …ahem “action”.)

Finally i’d be grateful if any one could tell me some titles worth getting with decent playing time.

Thanks for your time and thoughts everyone.
eckker.

PS. I’ve read thru the 1st thoughts on x-change 2 thread so please don’t feel you need to repeat yourselves for my benefit.

I haven't had time to go through all the endings for XC2, but it does seem longer to get through one ending compared to the original game.

If you're looking for a game w/ a fairly long ending, try Critical Point. Took me a good dozen hours to get all the endings.

Tokimeki Checkin is a decent length game for a multi-ending and the different paths provide quite a bit of diversity…Critical Point is a good one too…the True ending makes for a pretty long game from beginning to end

the best games for length, though, have got to be the C’s Ware games Eve: Burst Error, Adam: The Double Factor, Desire, and Divi-Dead)…Eve took me a good two weeks to get through the first time playing a few hours a day, similar for Adam…Desire was a little shorter, but still took me a few days…and Divi-Dead took me two days…another good length one is Chain from G-Collections, Private Nurse is longer as well, though not a days-long play, probably three or four hours…and all of them have really good stories, since all but Private Nurse and Divi-Dead are one-path, one-ending

You mean Desire is one-path, one-ending. Divi-Dead has many endings.

true… divi dead took forever… Desire also took me a while, but have to honestly give game legnth for me to seasons of sakura… it was my first game, so to get an ending with a girl took me forever… and trying to get ruri the first few times didnt help…

What about Nocturnal Illusion it was a long game in itself even if you could chose any of the girls at the end. It took me at least four days to beat because most of the objectives have to be done in a certain order to progress the story

Actually, if you screwed up two critical choices during the game (Nocturnal Illusion) Two of the ladies would be unavailable to you, although the choices are pretty obvious.

In the beginning when Maya (the Reporter) asks you if men and women are equal, if you answer incorrectly, she'll refuse to go with you at the end of the game. The other scene is when Risa having a little "fun" with Miwako, if you choose either one the other will be unavailable at the end of the game.(A little indecision goes a long way here!)

Doesn't Private Nurse have four or five endings? One where you are alone, one with the nurse, one with your childhood friend, one with Maria, and then a true ending with Maria?

“The Maid’s Story” has a fairly long playtime as well. Oh, and don’t forget “Gloria”. In my opinion, that ties “Critical Point” in terms of length and depth.

Well, I know some people will roll their eyes because the material is different, but “Water Closet” actually takes a bit to play through as well. This is because the way the story is told, once you finish one characters scenario, you should immediately start on someone elses scenario. The stories all build together in intertwine… kinda like watching Pulp Fiction or such.

That's what she said, all but Private Nurse and Divi-Dead are one-path, one-ending. I think some games like Desire are too long. Having to exhaustively select every move option to advance the story gets to be a drag.

I liked the parody humor of it. It took the whole idea of "potty humor" to a whole new level. It's a good parody.

No, I'm not a scat fan or anything like that, but I appreciate a good joke when I see/hear one.

It's one of the reasons I like Mel Brooks movies so much. He knows how to make a parody.

That's putting it mildly.

Never thought about what a good playing time should be. I mean, I notice when the playing length in one game is longer compared to another game, but what's a good length? Actually, I don't think there really is one. As lengthy as Chain was, I didn't really notice how long I was playing as I went through it until I took a glance at the clock. Conversely, there were parts in Private Nurse that I found dragging, where I was just thinking "okay, where's a good point I can break away for awhile?" Like many things, it's all relative. If you enjoy the story, get enthralled with what's going on, you probably won't notice how long it takes to make it through an ending.

"Leave us alone, Mel Brooks!" Hmm? Where did that come from?

Heh. I really need to start picking up the DVD versions of his movies. They're not as good when they're edited for content...

For public television or regular cable. They take out all the swearing and clip "questionable" scenes. In fact, I had been watching "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" recently and it's just wasn't the same. I had to either stop watching, or starting saying all the lines aloud and I talk to myself way too much as it is...

Well, that's thypical; Television and the movie itself can be quite different... and that's especially true in the US, or so I heard from a friend who visited Florida once. He told em that he was still quite shocked aboutt he amount of blood and violence that you saw on TV there ^^;;.

Hmm, was quite a while since I watched "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" or "Monthy Python's The Holy Grail"... Hmm, perhaps it's re-watching time! ^_^

I wouldn't know, I don't watch as much TV anymore. Hey, there's four adults in the house and only two TV's, and I have a computer with a DVD drive so...

Heh, probably! I can't even remember that last time I saw "The Holy Grail".
