I got to play a Japanese import bishoujo game last night entitled “Alone Again”. It was wonderful! The game interface is one of the best I’ve seen, and the artwork is gorgeous! I could not read the Jap text though because it said something like I needed the Jap windows or something. I played through it and surprisingly I managed to get 100% CGs and endings in one sittng. I got a “feel” for the game early on. There’s a behavior bar that accompanies the various choices, and if you want to get a certain girl (there are 5) you have to devote most of your behavior bars to her… though at some points you have to give up some bars to another girl in order to progress in the story. Completing a story cycle gets you bonus points which you can use to unlock additional modes and extras in the game.
sigh I wish they’d port it over to English though, I don’t know how I could possibly review this because I couldn’t read any of the text because they wouldn’t display properly on my system!!!

I will have to disgress. Actually I did like the character design. After having many way too cute characters, a more “serious” design is a nice change of pace.

Windows 98, English-version...
With regards to the visuals, I got 100% of the CGs and the artwork is superb... they don't resemble real people at all. Actually, the way the faces were drawn reminded me a bit of the style the Escaflowne characters were drawn.
