Sounds like you need to run scan disk, or perhaps search google for a good hard drive scanner that will fix corrupt sections of the drive.
Aside from “reinstall”, no. I would not recommend attempting to repair such an installation without serious technical knowhow – far more than I have, and I’m a professional software programmer!
Definitely I would not try to troll around on the net for free repair utilities. Many such “tools” are trojaned.
The most likely cause of this endemic corruption is a botched install/removal or compromise by malware. I would get antivirus. And antispyware. And I would stop using Internet Exploder*
Sadly so…yet if I’m going to reinstall…won’t my programs and/or games and game files be corrupted?
Not just corrupted…they’ll all be gone! You’ll have to reinstall them too.
You may transfer your saved game datas to other storage device before you will reinstall.
