Actually it takes 3.5 to 4 hours to get to LA. It only takes 1.5 to 2 to get to San Diego. I live 15 miles from the Mexican border. Yes, If you look at a map I live in the middle of the desert. The city is nicknamed hell centro by most inhabitants.
