How to introduce somebody into bishoujo

Just as the topic goes, how do the readers of this BBS think is the best way to introduce somebody into bishoujo anime/gaming without falling into some traps? Trap like "it is pn!".

Case scenario:

I have a girl friend who is a romantic at heart. She hasn’t seen that much anime, as far as I know, and (fortunately), she does not think anime is just violence or pn. For her birthday (later this month), I want to give her something different, and, after a while, I though, Snow Drop!

I am not afraid of giving her the game, but the possible slap she might give me later…

PS: Yes, she is over 18, so don’t worry on that.

hey fxho… you’re in a really big problem…
cuzz… even if the girl could be a romantic at heart… and according to Kumiko. this game is a romantic one… the girls think very different from we… the guys…
so you can think that the game is romantic but when she plays it she could think that this stuff is only for pervs…
so… tsk tsk… better explain to your girlfriend what’s really this stuff… the whole stuff…sometimes is good to tell only the truth…
of course… don’t say “this’s some kind of p**n…” cuzz she’ll smack you… tell her than this is something like the real life… so there could be many different kind of situations…
and if you’re good playing with the words… she could accept it… and understand the whole thing… cuzz if you only shows her the “romantic stuff” and she discovers by herself the other “things” she’ll surely smack you…
that’s my advice… hope that this be useful

it’s amazing your going to give your girl this, and on her birthday.

what more on top of that? she has no idea of what the genre is.

I think maybe I should put a flame shield up before I state my personal opinion.
--------------
For the flame shield:
I am never right at all.
I can and will be for the most of the time be wrong.
My opinion is never better than your
opinion, you will be correct, I will not argue that.
--------------

ok, I think im safe.

No way, that is one awesome girlfriend if you really, really think she’s ready for that. I’m really expecting for you to get one hard slap in the face, A book maybe for a present, but come on , a genre like this, and has no idea about anime? I wouldn’t recommend it. Have her watch some un-adulterated anime [young audience], honestly I believe your going to get smacked hard, if you haven’t given it to her already.

If you have, tell us. It would be interesting to hear how it went.

Yeah, as a girl myself, I know some girls that think this genre is kinda sick.(^_^;; I had one girl
say Fancia kiddie was porn…geezz…Its not even adult.)
Others just don’t want to admit they like it. Believe it or not…the girls that are into bishojo
gaming aren’t the norm (LOL) because while some game’s stories might appeal to women
because they are romantic, the art form is more of a guy thing.
Try introducing her into more anime first…(thats how I slowly got into other forms of it.)
buy her a cute anime vid!! hehe

A small note here: I meant “girl friend” as in “female (close) friend”, not as in fiancee.

Kumiko-san: She is cute and pretty on her own right. Sandalphon may agree/disagree with me here: her parents are from Los Santos, a province in Panama, which is said comes the prettiest women in Panama.

Ferior-san: she is watching Kakyuusei TV, and she likes the story, although she said something on the lines of “why this guy get all the girls?”. She is quite open minded, and, when I told her there is “another story-line from Kakyuusei that features an explicit adult scene”, she wasn’t shocked at all. Probably I will do as H-Gurl said, give her an anime video. Hmmmmm… Buttobi CPU? cough cough (Oh, and she didn’t slapped me.)

However, there is still something nobody has mentioned, yet: the general case, how to introduce somebody (male or female) into the genre.

erhm…well fxho…
the women from Los Santos… some of there are very pretty (as the ones from Chiriqui… according to my cousin)… but is the same as everywhere in this world… there’re pretty ones… but they’re pretty hard to find (the REALLY pretty ones)
also… that’s one of the hottest provinces in panama… i still remember when i go there and did my social services… gosh! i was almost dying there… and that’s cuzz near Los Santos is a desert… so you can figure how’s the weather there…
well… my point’s that is she’s really open minded she’ll understand this stuff pretty well… but you must keep showing her the anime so she can be very familiarized with it… so when she’ll receive Snow Drop… she can understand it and appreciate it…

(BTW… sorry for answering a bit late hehehe)
