Hypertheory (Sogna Game Laws)

Having played through quite a few Sogna Hyper Animation Games (Viper Series), I’ve come up with what I Call my Hypertheory. Proof by game and character name. If a law has an exception the game and / or character will be listed below the law.

-Viper Games that I have played:
M-1 (English)
V16 (English)
GTS
CTR
M-5
RSR
Lanjerie Black (part of the Gokuraku Series and is not beholden to these laws)

1.The game will be short (2 hrs playing time)
Exception: Viper RSR (Took about 3.5 hrs)

2. The game will have a cute / pretty female main character and a sexy female main character, The sexy female character will be raped at least once during the game.
-Miki-CTR
-Carerra-GTS
-Kara -RSR
-Akira -V16 RISE (in all but two endings)
Exception: M-5

3.Extension to rule 2. The pretty / cute girl will be raped if you screw up in your choices in the game
-Kari - V16
-Jota -RSR (lose certain fights)

4.Optional Law,There will be fights in the game that you will lose because the programmers and the storyline conspire against you.
-RSR (Kara against the Main Tower monster)
-M-5 (Shiho against the main bad guy)
Exception: V-16 Rise (You can win them all)

-If anybody would like to add to these laws feel free to do so

We will have to see what kind of rules Viper Paradice has =P.
I agree with your summary, I wish Sogna would not put SOOO much faith in their animations. The main problem I have is I actually like their mini stories plots usually, if they took the time to make them longer Sogna would rank very high on my favorite company list. As it is I am very hesitant to pick up any of their games =(.

    Well, I checked afterwards and realized that you didn’t really have that many posts, so I take it back. I just see you posting alot so figured you were up there =P. Speaking of Ekylo, what ever happened to him, I have not seen him post in forever.

    Viper V16 didn’t have the stuff for great story compared to Viper M1 I thought. Chunky dialogue and talkative girls does not a love AVG make, otherwise Imagine could have been great. It was so, blah. Give me still images and great story and dialogue and characterizations anyday.

    Yes, Just preordered them the other day. I have the Japanese version of Viper Lanjerie Black, so hopefully I'll be able to play it better when I find out what some of the more esoteric cards can do in Paradice.

    Yes it is the longest Viper game I've played. From what I could gather, the plot seems to be a variation on V16 Rise in that the monsters kidnap human / elven women to have sex with / procreate. The storyline is actually fairly interesting with an unexpected twist at the end.

    This game really isn't a RPG, you are railroaded through the plot and only the last fight in the game has any amount of danger to it. (Except for two fights which you will lose as part of the plot.)

    I personally can't recommend it if you're looking for a GOOD RPG.

    I can recommend it if you're looking for an interesting storyline or you're a hard core Sogna fan.

    For those of you who might be looking for some of the older Sogna games. They’re going to be rereleasing a lot of their older stuff this September.

    For those of you with a DVD-Rom Drive and are thinking about picking up GTS as part of the Classic Collection. Sogna’s releasing a DVD-Rom Version of Viper GTS in October. The Animation size is full screen (640 x 480), Instead of the small game window. Info is available here:

    This is totally off the subject, and I didn’t feel like starting a new topic.

    I think a good game for someone to port over would be Advanced Variable Geo Rebirth. Then we will have rpg’s, adv, sim, puzzle, and fighting heheh.
