I was about to order Snow Drop but first

…I noticed that the music is CD-DA? Can anyone clarify what this is and what I need on my PC to hear it? Is it just another way of saying CD Audio? (like that what can be played on a normal CD player) or is this different?

Arigatou

You will only need a basic sound card to play CD-DA(or CD Audio).

The music plays along with the game, no need to try to make it play. But you can listen to the music on a CD player on the PC or off, without running the game of course.
(thats what I did when my monitor died a year back…lol listen to H-Game music with my Portable CD player hooked up to the PC speakers)

CD-DA stands for digital audio, it’s the same format as normal audio CD’s you would buy in the record store. I can’t vouch that the CD-DA can be played back on a CD player like Tokimeki Check-In!, which is an awesome game by the way and the 2nd CD is essentially an original soundtrack CD that you can playback on your audio CD player as well as access during the game for far superior BGM as well as OP/ED to the MIDI versions, but I’ll let you know when I get the game. The Administrators could probably tell you whether or not Snow Drop’s CD-DA can be played back on a CD player.

Thanks for the quick response

I had to wait 3 months for a replacement motherboard about half a year ago and I did exactly the same thing, lol.

I’ll try to drum up support for music CD’s, but I hate to burden Peach Princess with more licensing issues when you have so many more projects on hand. It’s quite amazing to me that Peach Princess is able to translate, convert engines and release four games within the span of one year. I think games should be the focus for now, once the Bishoujo game becomes entrenched enough in the English gaming market then music CD’s should sell just as well as Bishoujo games… in the future that is.

Doesn’t Crowd’s soundtracks come on their 2nd Disc anyways? I noticed that’s the case for Tokimeki Check-In!, is that the same for Xchange 2, Brave Soul, Doushin, and their newer titles like Obligato, Miss You?

Arigatou!

I have ordered Snow Drop anyway
All I was really asking is that I don’t need any special hardware (like sound card or speakers) to play CD-DA music in the games.

[QB]You cannot listen to the music of Will’s games without using the game - the files are encrypted for the game engine. Many companies do this. The format is still the same, though - it’s just that the audio files are packed into a single file and encrypted for the game engine, which helps to protect the material from being pirated.[/QB]
Surely you could just have some software recording all audio output while the game is playing though? I mean, this would get it into .wav file and from there all is needed is to burn the .wav files to CD as CD audio right?

However, as far as actually using that music, remember that you have to have the rights. We do not have the rights to music produced by I've - that's a separate production from the actual game itself, and the music is licensed to the Japanese company by I've specifically for use with the game. Just because technology allows you to do something does not mean you have the right to do it - you have to obtain permission to use material.

does this mean, that after buying a game, it is not legal to record the music for seperate listening? even if you arent distrubuting it to other people?

Aaaaaaargh… I entered the expiry date wrong for my CC, d’oh… would it be okay for me to e-mail the correct expiry date and the order number and everything to sales@peachprincess.com or should I re-order?

Also, how long do should orders to the UK take to arrive?

Thanks

Thanks, I contacted them and the problem is solved
