I'm on the ropes here

Well now that Peach Princess released patches the world is going round now. But now with Hirameki showing their Anime PC games now I’m conflicted. I was originally going to go after The Sagara Family, Hitomi and another one but now I"m probably going to wait to see how AYA comes out.

If anyone played the Japanese version of AYA could they describe the game in more detail as the demo was really small and It makes me want more.

Bishoujo is getting more exciting then ever. Especially now that a company is releasing more mainstream titles that don’t show the more adult parts of it.

Yes, all seems to be going at least somewhat smoothly around here right now. Can’t say I’m complaining too much. I also am looking forward to some of these non-adult games coming out, and I hope they can attract the attention of people who might otherwise not support these games.

Once I get confirmation that these patches work and everything is well with them, I will probably buy 2 or 3 of the V-Mate games that looked good to me.

As for you, just gotta ask yourself what you want more. Good story, cute games, no H. Or would you prefer moderate story, cute games, much H! I go for the H myself, but I’m a big fan of the closeness that sex generates between the characters.

I also hope these Yaoi games generate more interest in the english B-Game scene! I won’t be buying them myself, but if they attract more positive awareness and sales, then it’s a step in the right direction!

I have to say no to Yaoi or as I call it. YOWIE.

I am however all over Yuri.

YURI YURI YUM YUM YUM

I still don’t understand why people like Yuri more than Yaoi. Both are about equally disgusting in my opinion.

Is EXODUS Guilty an rpg? For some reason I remember seeing it as one. Also didn’t that same game also have sex in it? Did they censor it? I’ll look forward to Ai Yori Aoshi

I'd imagine that most people interested in bishoujo games would prefer a game with two hot bishoujos over a game with two hot bishonens.

Also, why do you say it's "disgusting"? Are you simply generalising all games of these two genres, or are you saying that you find homosexual people disgusting? If it's the last one, I'd like to remind you that being a bit tolerant of other people's sexuality might be prudent, considering you yourself have a hobby that a lot of people look at as somewhat sick and deviant.

This is a board where some pretty diverse opinions about sexuality exist. Being tolerant and nonjudgmental, even if something isn't to your own preferance, is crucial in here. We're trying to get along, you know

Anyway, I'm not crazy about either of those genres. Call me boring, but I kind of like the old fashioned "true love" story between a guy and a girl. But given a choice, I'd rather see yuri, seeing as I'm a bishoujo fan. 2 bishoujos are better than none.

I think straight guys are more likely to feel “threatened” by gay guys than gay girls. After all, proper lesbians clearly don’t want anything to do with them. (On the flip side, some of them then consider it a “challenge” to try and bed a lesbian.)

Also, plenty of guys appear to think “One girl good, two girls = twice as good!” Either in terms of getting them into a threesome or in just watching. They like watching girls, so watching MORE girls = MORE good.

Being neither male nor straight, my opinion may be wrong.

It's simple enough. More girls than guys like yaoi; and vice versa.

Since there are more male b-game fans, it stands to reason there'd be more interest in yuri than in yaoi.

Actually that's pretty much it. Most guys wouldn't mind watching a naked girl, so what's wrong with watching two of them together?

It makes sense from a view focused mainly on the sexual aspect, but it doesn't necessarily make a good story (if you care about that sort of thing in games). This is the reason I'm not so thrilled about the idea of Yuri games. While I'm sure I'd appreciate the art content (unless it's a ZyX game ), I'm rather pessimistic about the rest of the qualities in them.

Yes. These men are stupid. But not quite as stupid as this man:

(Yeah, yeah, so it's tangentially related ... I just had to share that with SOMEbody ...)

That's more or less right. For me, personally, it's like "Hmm ... I can be checking out one girl, and a guy ... or two girls ... this is kind of a no-brainer." (That's not entirely it, but I couldn't say what else draws me to it ... kind of a moth-to-flame thing.)

I find homosexual people having sex disgusting, since obviously their bodies aren't made for that, so they use other, unnatural methods for that.

I'm aware of that. I'm tolerant, but that doesn't mean that I can't have my own opinions. I did express my sentiments as my opinion.

Yuri definitely has more appeal to me as a straight guy than yaoi, which has no appeal. On the other hand, I am at least mildly interested in futinari stories involving 1.5 girls. So bring on the Xchange games.

Nope, I pass. I’m totally uninterested in Yaoi games. Besides, Peapri is already enough slow in releasing “normal” b-games, no need for other delays/yaoi games…

At least, I think that the demand for pirated versions and thus the chances for pirates to earn fame-points by pirating them is smaller for bishonen-games.

In my opinion, the opposite is true. How many “normal” b-gamers would like to try/buy YAOI games if pirated versions are available?

I gotta agree with Baldo on this one. I'm sorry, but I don't do yaoi, this door doesn't swing both ways. Yuri I can handle, but I'm still mostly an old-fashioned, one-girl-one-boy type of guy.

(Or many-girls-one guy, for those harem scenes. )

I'm afraid that battle is already lost. Hasn't Peter said they're planning to do two yaoi releases? I guess they have to look at it from the business standpoint. I keep hearing on AOD that yaoi anime is outselling shoujo titles, so there must be a demand for it.

Those of us who don't like dark [rape] themed games will have to wait even longer for light titles. I don't begrudge anyone else's preference, but I hope people don't start thinking of b-games as gay. That could scare away even more customers than the the porn label. Hirameki may be our best hope.

That’s true. At least with a porn label people go HMMMMMMMM DELICIOUS Might try this in my own home! But with the buttsex label people will run like forest from bullies.

I don’t think this yaoi business will endanger anything, really. It’ll be under a different brand, and possibly different people.

Perhaps they should sell it under the Banana Prince brand. just kidding!
