Incredibly strange Tokimeki Inn error

Off the top of my head, and I am not affiliated with Jast USA in any way – Have you tried:

  1. Running the installer as Administrator?
  2. Running the .exe as Administrator?
  3. Checking your AV software to make sure it isn’t a false positive? It may be deleting the .exe thinking it’s a trojan or something.
  4. Running the .exe in compatibility mode, and tinkered with the various types of compatibility mode?
  5. Combining 2) and 4)?
  6. Running the .exe in the Virtual XP mode?

If it was 3 then there would’ve been some kind of notification from the AV (in fact if it is the AV doing it then the detection would’ve hit during installation not when the game is being started) and 6 wouldn’t be of much help if the OP has home premium installed and I know the rest aren’t necessary since I have that game (the original 2 disc version) and it works with no problems (but I am using the updated checkin.exe file).

ok iirc it has something to do with what type of music you have it set on

You have to have the music set on CD-DA, or it’ll error out or run slow as molasses.
