…about H-games, of course.
Very interesting. “Ero-gei”. First time I’ve ever heard that term before. Hmm, does “Snow Drop” fall into this? (I mean, I thought some of the endings were on the sad side. Still like the game though.)
Hmm, and as a side note, I think some of the stories in the side bar of that page are also interesting.
Yes, very interesting!
Hmm, I really have to ask this: Is there anyone here who have played that game they speak so highly of, “Hana/Kana, my younger sister”?? Fromwhat people says about it, it seems like it’s that kind of game that most people will cry for, just like Hayao Miyazaki’s “Grave of the fireflies”, so I wonder if anyone here has played it and can tell us what he throught of it?
BTW, Beholder-san, “Grave of the Fireflies” is not Miyazaki’s… It’s Takahata’s…

Once a year does a sleeper hit like this one gets release…
But I agree that ¬ë√•¬à¬´¬éi is better with it’s gameplay and wacky storyline.

Aah, from AgeSoft, right? I've heard about it, but nothing more. So, both of you would recommend this game?
Which one ?
ŒN‚ª–]‚Þ‰i‰" is from Age.
‘别Ži is the one from AliceSoft.

LOL!
Well, I as well have dozens of PC games to play, dozens of console games to play and hundreds of anime to watch. The only things I'm not behind in, are manga... because I can read them during my daily transportation to my office! Otaku are like dragons, I think: they tend to hoard items they'll never have a chance to use!

Hahaha, that was the funniest comparieson I've heard for quite a while . But you're right nonetheless... Fans of PC-games buys tons of games which they in most cases never will be able to finish completly (depends on which game they're playing or what they want to role-play as in the game and if they want to take the longer or shorther path), and it's much the same with the more hardcore fans of manga and anime; they buys tons of stuff they never might be able to finish completly and they're as you said much like drsagons in that case; they have hoards of "treasures", but they never use modt of that treasures .
Hmm, by the way, about PC-games that takes long timer to finish, what do you think of them compared to bishoujo games? Kumiko once before pointed out that one of the good things about bishoujo games are that they often doesn't require all that much time to finish - it might take quite a while to figure out all the endings and all the paths in the game, but to play them through - from beginning to end doesn't take all that much time in most cases, which is good, especially if you doesn't have all that much time to plsy a game.
People sometimes doesn't have all that much free time, which means that if they play a game where they have to spend much time to advance in the story, it'll take them a VERY long time to reach the end of the story in the game.
Now, I hope that some people here don't gets me wrong, I do love PC-games where you have to spend a very long time to play through the whole story and explore all possible paths, but at the same time, it sometimes feels quite tiring when you play for hours in a game and nothing new happens, at least nothing that keeps the story advancing. So if you compare thast to a bishoujo game, the bishoujo game might be better, because that the story is always advancing, not standing still in a bishoujo game.

I could care less how long a game is as long as its content is good. One of my favorite games of the past year is Ico for PS2, which only takes about 6 hours to play through the first time. After that, it takes around 3 hours. Despite its relatively short length, it’s one of the few games of the past year that I felt was worth its $50. In regards to bishoujo games, I felt that Tokimeki Check-in was worth its price and was also a game that had a lot of replay value. (It took somewhere around 10 hours, although I didn’t really keep track, for me to get 100% graphics, but I still haven’t gotten the bad Ume ending.) Divi-dead, which is one of my favorite games of any type, has less replay than Tokimeki Check-in and is in the 5- to 10-hour range, yet it’s worth its price a lot more than most of the games out there that may be longer.
And just because a game is long doesn’t mean it’s any good. Dark Angel for PS2 (although I haven’t played it) takes something like 360 hours to beat, yet all reviews say how boring it is after a few hours and isn’t worth playing to the end.
‘Kimi ga nozomu eien’ is scheduled to be released on PS2 by Princess Soft. Not much is said about the differences with the PC version through (except new CGs…)
…while a DC release is scheduled by Alchemist!

to begin wtih, the title mentioned in the article’s 'Kana ~ Imouto" (Kana, my sister), and not 'Hana" (flower). Besides, “Kana”'s a pretty dated reference for an article written early this year. Quite disappointed that Mainichi Shinbum, of all papers, could allow something like that to slip through… can’t they can’t someone more in the know to contribute…?
In any case, “Kana” is very much a graphic novel in the true sense that there are pages of text to get through. Quite touching (and depressing), but the incest theme isn’t exactly new–even feel-good manga like Mitsuru Adachi’s “Miyuki” had it (and THAT probably has one of the best endings I’ve seen in a romantic manga series). Quite a dated game by now, and the tear-jerking factor has prob also been surpassed by Key’s “Kanon” and “Air”.
Anyway, another heart-wrenching bishoujo game I’d strongly recommend would be “Kuon no Kizuna” (FOG - http://www.fog.co.jp) – out only for PS and DC, unfortunately.
And yes, Daiakuji. (^^); funny that the most politically-incorrect game of the year should be the most playable one. maybe the producers of boring duds like Ruthless.com and Gangsters 2 should play it first.

Well, quite possibly. After all, in Gangsters 1 you could do quite a lot of bad things too - you could even start a brothel if you wanted to (but this bussines didn't bring in very much money, if you didn't place the brothel in one of the more populated area's of the town, and even if you did that, there was always much higher risk of being discovered by the police). There is always peopple who're interested in games where you can play a "bad guy" after all...
What games in the west fail to get is it isn’t so fun being the bad guy if there isn’t any story to it.
What made Daiakuji so fun (I replayed it seven times; I’ve never done that, and I hate hardcore h-games ) is the humour and the twist and turns in the story. If only Gangster and such games place so much details to plot.
