If you don’t mind being chained to Apple, then by all means, enjoy yourself. As for myself, I’ll wait until something using Android comes along and crushes Apple. It might be that “There’s an app for that”, but when someone finally makes a good cell that uses Android, there will be 20 “apps for that”, often with a free, open source one being much better than anything chained by Apple’s (or anyone else’s) proprietary chains.
I realize you are talking about an iPod Touch, but let’s face it: the iPod Touch is pretty much just a more cheaply made, neutered iPhone.
I see… no one else has any constructive input…
Sorry I couldn’t provide you with any comment on the actual games. Unless these games are on more than just the iPhone/iPod Touch, it is extremely unlikely I would ever play them.
Looks like this is the 2nd full fledged Visual Novel/Bishoujo dating sim on iTunes. When I checked the help section of the game, it said it’s a straight port of a PC visual novel. Official site says the “Yuuryou Ban” will be available for sale around mid-April, so I don’t know if it’s different from the free version that has been available for download since April 2. From the company DaiDai Inc. that also brought us Girls Skip (Great puzzle game). Girls have full voice acting!
Jesus, it looks like the iPod Touch is fast becoming the platform of choice for porting Bishoujo games. Tons of Moe applications are sprouting up left and right, and there’s a company Mtrix Co. that has ported Present for You ~ Watashi o A-Ge-Ru and Gift to the iPod Touch… apparently Memories Off is the next game to be ported.
Another NaiL Bishoujo game gets ported to the iPhone… with all adult content stripped of course:

Must be making bank, they seem to be porting these awfully fast.
Memories Off gets an iPhone OS port courtesy of Mtrix Co. I wonder how well these games are selling — they’re all priced at $15.99 USD or more.
It’s not just that there’s suddenly a huge installed base, VNs lend themselves well to the iPhone/iPod Touch as they gameplay is often very simple, involving decisions and choices and not really much in the way of action.
Also, the iPhone platform is INCREDIBLY easy to develop for, we’ve done some development where I work and it really is very straightforward with Apple’s SDK to turn something as simple as a VN into an app.
Right, but the multitouch interface didn’t seem to be fully used in some of these games I tried. Only one (I can’t remember which) seemed to have at least gotten a acceptable UI design for a touch device. You should also keep in mind that even if the engine part might be not too difficult to create, the content takes up a LOT of storage. If people come out with more visual novels for iPhone/iPod Touch, you won’t be able to fit all of them on your device at the same time. Just the trial version of Gift was a few hundred megabytes.
True enough, but how long does YOUR i battery last you before you have to plug it in anyway? IMNSHO if the battery life ever gets to the point that I can go through the entire contents of my iPhone on a single charge, THEN i’ll worry about getting more space.
