And where is equality now when our rights to watch porn are stepped on ?
Regardless that, Gift is safe since I never got aroused while playing it.

As I naturally tend more towards labeling than censorship, I don’t see why they don’t just create a “Naughty!” section to stuff all the stupid shit into. That would include apps consisting solely of fart sounds as well as pictures of jiggling boobs. Actual games shouldn’t have to compete with ridiculous crap; ridiculous crap shouldn’t be banned as there’s obviously an audience for it.
We never had any to begin with. Just ask Larry Flint.
Evidently Apple is worried their devices will be known as iPorn, and gone puritanical to keep conservative consumers happy. I believe, they believe, that fewer people want the naughty stuff, than the busybodies who will complain there’s naught stuff available. Sorta how Paypal doesn’t allow their vendors to sell porn and whatnot…
Basically it comes down to people - once again - unable to police themselves (or their children) and demanding that companies police for them… because certain cultural values are so weak, they can’t survive if only the people who believe in them, follows them.
Although on the other hand, this is Apple… they’ve rejected and banned things on their iPhone for dumb reasons quite frequently.
I had the impression the paypal thing was because some high mucky-muck who bought into the business was crazy religious emself and plain didn’t want the money if it was ‘dirty’. Dunno though.
I don’t think so, since Google Checkout do it too; no, I think the belief here is not so much to do with outrage but rather the concern that allowing the sale of adult goods could backfire onto them if the site in question was found to be supplying them to people that are underaged. Credit cards don’t have this problem because underage users can’t apply for one in the first place, but neither Paypal nor Google Checkout can really check to find out if their users are old enough.
Why do I think this? Because Bitcash has a similar policy; however, adult goods can be sold with ‘Bitcash EX’ which can only be bought by people over 20 and only bought over the Internet by accounts that have been confirmed as owned by a user 20 years of age or older.
Unless Paypal changed how they operated, don’t they require that a bank account be tied to the service, in the event they need to forcibly pull money from you (like when a credit card payment fails)? If so, then they can easily get your age from the bank account itself. The government mandates that banks take the account holder’s age for tax purposes and financial liability (children don’t have as much as adults do).
The information is electronically tied to your account info, for that reason. It may not give the specific age, but it would flag if the account was held by a minor.
Of course that system is no more fool proof than any of the other half dozen out there (I read about a kid buying cars online, using his parent’s account once).
They always seem to push for that but you can get along fine without, if you’re only sending money at least…
EDIT: So… http://www.macrumors.com/2010/02/24/app … bmissions/ What would this mean? XD
I wonder if these games are going to last long with Apple’s new rules.
When I see stuff like this I have to ask, what or who exactly are we trying to protect here?
Focus on restricting inappropriate content to the appropriate audiences but outright censorship will never be the answer :?
As for gift, I downloaded the demo to see what I was getting into before putting cash down and 'm glad I did; after two weeks of having it on my iphone, I’ve yet to finish it and is simply because I’ve had better results come out of online translation services; just take a look at the product description:
High potential game can be played on iPhone UI as well as high quality sound of BGM
can be done on it.
Well, I guess the message is understandable…
The insertion music and opening movie are perfectly included.
This fascinate you with portable feeling as if you carry PS2.
And this too, I mean who doesn’t want that fascinating portable feeling?
Rain is rainbow.
He liked rainbow.
He never look up the skies but she think of how she can catch up with the rainbow.
And who doesn’t like rainbows? …
But seriously, on the positive side it looks and plays great on the iphone, hopefully there will be a good effort from other companies to have great portable visual novels
