New Download Editions

What is the reaction to the new Download Edition games? I have to admit that I thought the reaction might be so-so due to the general feelings about Virtual Mate, at least on this board. I figured, these are serious fans who probably want to collect a physical product rather than a virtual one. However, sales of the downloads have been very strong, and we’re extremely happy. We do plan to get the rest of the G-Coll games up (actually just posted a boatload to the JAST USA site), and will be making our other titles available via download too.

Actually, after surfing through a few Japanese online shops (see below), the price seems 10$ overpriced... but I'm truly happy nevertheless!!!!

The key phrase here is a title not already in their catalog. New games will cost more to license and develop than the current batch. I'm happy that business is good because that means more b-games in the long term. I hope PP doesn't decide to switch to download-only, since that would mean an end to new games (for me).

I’d be unhappy with download-only, but I’m fine with download-as-an-option, especially with the alterations that have been made to the process, and might go for it on the yaoi games if they use it. (Since I, er, don’t want a yaoi box in my collection. )

The cost is too high to pay for download versions. Especially with the fact that Full blown cd rom versions are only five dollars more. I rather have that physical item then a downloaded one. I just love my retail version of lets meow meow.

Bring more catgirls!

Just moved to a new home, in a place with no DSL pops available. So this is a no.
