Nukenin

This isn’t a review, but rather, a notice for those who haven’t seen this title yet. I’ll do a review for it one day, but… well… read on…

I’ve been playing Nukenin from Waffle for quite a bit now, and I can’t hide it: this game is good. Damn good. It might even be a perfect 10 in my book… and that’s saying a lot if you know me.

This title has beautiful artwork, good music, numerous sex events, dozens upon dozens of character models… the list goes on and on… I’m still quite a bit from unlocking everything (over 60 hours and I’m still only about 50% complete… it has that much content), but I might as well give a little heads up on it. I’m very impressed.

Oh… it’s a dark title by the way. Demon hunting ninja getting captured and turned evil and all.

Perhaps you should say that first Xp.

Well, I've seen the game at Getchu.com. Thorugh I confess, through it was obvious to me that it was a dark game, I still didn't think it seemed too interesting. I still don't. Hmm. But if you say it's that great, perhaps I should give the playable demo a try, after all...

The only fault I’m really finding with this title, is how the plot loses “momentum” in the middle part of the story. It starts off with bells and whistles, then kinda sputters a bit, and then picks back up at end game. I haven’t unlocked all the endings (more importantly, the “real” ending) so I’m hoping this is just my natural pessimisms…

The demo doesn’t portray this, as it sticks with the early segments (as one would expect).

If the path leading to the true ending is as good as I hope it is, then Nukenin makes me really happy. However, if it doesn’t… well… I’m not so forgiving for false hopes.

Nonetheless, from having about 60% complete, I think there’s potential. I’m just surprised this title didn’t get more attention within this niche…

Shall I take it as that you recommend for me to try the demo?

Hey, we only have ourselves to blame for false hopes, ne? ^_-

And you'd still think that even if the remaining 40% doesn't meet your exceptations?

Yes. It's still a good title, even if it falls flat at the half-way point. Better than the "average" stuff at least.

MinDeaD BlooD is a good example of a game that starts out great, but sorta sputters at the end. Of course, later we fans discover than it was rushed and all - hence the Mana & Mayu fandisc. Had MinDeaD incorporated everything that it was supposed to, then I'd be a very happy gamer... and my reason for not being 100% happy with that upcoming DVD Special - they still won't do it.

But getting back to Nukenin - that it starts out great is no question. That it ends great is no question. But at least about half events between... say 25% of the game content.... is sorta "long" - but not boring, per se. Kinda hard to define in words. I'm assuming this is because I'm not playing "efficently" enough.

Heh... this topic is starting sound like a review now.

I’d say it still has a long way to go before that Xp. But I expect we’lls ee a review alter in the review secion? ^_- Maa, iiyo. I’ll try the demo later…

Playing the Nukenin demo righ tnow! Interesting, indeed… As you say in your review, a game with a shinobi-setting is truly interesting! The art is very good and soare the animations, but the character designs aren’t 100% to my liking, but that’s a small point. So far, the music seem very suitable for the game, indeed!

So far, it looks like a game that I may get someday in the future. Say thorugh, how many endings is there in the game?

While it didn’t turn out the be the perfect game I was looking for, I really enjoyed Nukenin. It’s rare for me to like all the girls in a title equally, but this one proved to be a happy exception.

There are technically 10 endings in the game: four good, four bad, a harem, and the true ending.

You liked all of’em? ^_-. Well, they’re certainly likeable enough, even if I felt most drawn to Kaede  .

Alright! sounds more than good enough to me! adds Nukenin to my list of games to get in the future
