Ooooooo New unannounced Bishoujo Game

Well, well, well, everyone who gets the Peach Princess mail should notice a interesting little paragraph at the end.

"In related news: a major translation work for an upcoming (but not
announced yet) game has finally been completed. We’ll announce this title
and open it up for preorders in a few weeks."

Let the guessing begin… I am gonna do some research and make a guess Monday .

I am so hoping that it’s gonna be X-change 2.

Whoo-hoo! This is great! . I’m going to preorder it right away!

But one thing’s strange… I should get the Peach Princess mail… but I haven’t got anything yet, and the mail you speak about isn’t in the Peach Princess Press archives, at least not yet…

My apologies. That’s supposed to be my job (adding the new newsletter to the BBS archive), but I have been internet-crippled for quite awhile. I will try to add the latest newsletter to the archive asap. Sorry about this.

Hmm…I usually don’t really ask Peter or the peapri staff about status of projects, but yes it will most likely be X-Change2 (just personal speculation). Guess I need to go through the game pretty soon if you guys want me to talk about the sequel.

Welll, since it’s such great news, I forgive you . But since I didn’t got that newsletter for some reason, be sure to add it to the archive as soon as you can!

It is probably’a good thing to
go through the game, since there most likely will be LOTS of dicussion, speculations and a lot of other things about X-change 2, especially since many people here are highly excepting that game . I just hope that it won’t delay Brave Soul or LMM in any way through.

I just spent a little bit of time going through X-Change 2, and got a good ending with Asuka. I will start a new thread on X-Change 2

All news about Crowd titles is good news, I am so in love with the character designs by the individuals responsible for Miss You, Dousshin, Tokimeki Check-In, and X-Change 2. With Crowd I can trust them to have excellent scenarios and wonderful characters.

Hmm, what about Yaiba, then?

Did they have a renew version of Yaiba, or was it Fukushuu? Anyways, you know me, I'm a webmaster, my mission to get all the Bishoujo games for my website so I can review it, even if it is something thin on story like a few chapters in Viper.

Hmm. well, I don’t really know if it is called Yaiba or fukushuu… I just wanted to know if you had played it, and what you throught of it, since most of Crowds games seems to be focused more on comedy than anything else, but Yaiba/Fukushuu seems to be different (althrough that I know that most adult bishoujo gmae companies makes at least one brutish adult bishoujo game). From what I found out through the Altavista translator (babelfish), that game seems to be quite “brutish” and focuses much on getting revenge for something…

If it isn't available yet in English, most likely I have never played it, unless it was released for the Neo Geo Pocket Color, because I don't have the Japanese Windows and I'm not all that savvy in Windows to do the double operating system thang (Macintosh is my thing) but grudgingly play the games just because I love to play Bishoujo games. Besides, Americans seem to have extremely strong stances against violent games, so I don't think it would be all that presentable to the media should they catch wind of it. I would hate to see it made an example of the moral degradation of computer gaming just as those ignorant reporters were quick to seize on Microsoft Flight Simulator as training ground for the 9/11 event.

Really? It's kind of strange in that case, since many of the most violent gmaes comes from America . I throught it was us Europeians who had a problem with violent games.

Well, they might make such an example if such a game were found int he home of a rapist or soemthing like that (the reason for Flight Simulators being blamed in this case was because that they were found in the homes of the hijackers/terrorists). Still, the risk is so far quite samll, since we doesn't have all that many "brutish" adult bishoujo games here in the West...

Yeah, I heard how GTA3 was completely banned in Australia, but wait, Australia isn't Europe. But, what I meant was, people in America seem to adopt a double standard against 'morally unacceptable behavior.' 'Thou Shalt Not Kill' and 'Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbor's Wife' are both in the canonical Ten Commandments, but the games can depict killing as long as it is not 'unacceptably graphic', which is appropriately just as vague as our Attorney General's fascist intentions. (I can't get over how silly it is that the small amounts of blood in SNK Vs. Capcom is removed when you set your internal settings of the Neo Geo Pocket Color to English, but is there when the internal settings is set to Japanese. Unacceptably graphic? just over blood? Vampire sucked them dry?) But if you have something depicting the act of sex or adultery, it is considered unacceptable, period.

Well what gets me is the “unannounced game” part of it. X-Change 2 was already announced. Here is from a previous newsletter “* P010 ($49.95) X-change 2 - production work temporarily suspended.” Although they say that work is suspended, they have announced their plans to bring it over. So I am kinda confused. IF previously announced but suspended games are considered unannounced I would say X-Change 2 is the most logical choice, since their #1 seller from Kumiko’s post months back was still X-Change 1, they would have a name to build on already. If all the previously announced games are not taken into account, I have done some research on Will games that is might be, unless of course it is not a Will game, which I doubt.
The four Companies under the Will label that I could tell (Crowd games are not listed in Will’s catalog, so is Crowd not under Will’s label?) are: Ruf, Rouge, Sweet Basil, and Guilty. Now if you recall Kumiko said awhile back that Peach Princess requires the Japanese Companies help to translate/uncensor a game and that those companies will usually only work on one game at a time in their spare time. Also currently Peach Princess offers 2 Crowd games(X-Change, Tokimeki Check-in), 2 Sweet Basil games (Snow Drop, Critical Point), 1 Guilty game (Water Closet), 0 ruf or rouge games. Also Peach Princess has officially announced and has a product page up for Little My Maid (Sweet Basil), Gibo (Guilty), Brave Soul (Crowd). Also Peach Princess has announced but suspended X-Change 2 (Crowd), Slave Market Rennaisance (ruf), News Caster Mariko (Guilty), Used Condom (Guilty), and Synchronous Hearts (Which never really got talked about much). So going by the info that Japanese Companies will only work on one project at a time we can probably cross off Crowd (Brave Soul), Guilty (Gibo), and Little My Maid (Sweet Basil). That leaves ruf and rouge. If it was a Ruf game I think it would be Dokusen, if it is a Rouge game I hope its Konoha Challenge. Whew! that was alot of work =P but as promised there is my researched predictions. I think Dokusen is the most likely since there has been alot of buzz about it and since Peach Princess to my knowledge has yet to announce a Rouge game (too bad I like Rouge).
Any thoughts?

Any thoughts wanted?

Well, first of all, there was Sweet Basil obviously working on more than one game! You might notice, that Little My Maid is worked at a very long time and in the meantime, the work on Critical Point must have been started and completed. This equals two games at one time, right?

This thing about “one game at a time” might be a general guideline, but no law.

Of cause it means a higher risk of useless efforts to develop more games simultaniously, but if someone in japan has decided to make one last great effort to offer a bigger variety of games before deciding about definitely resigning on the western market, it may be likely that the “one game - one time” - guideline is no longer in effect on this company.
(in japan, there is a saying, that “business is war”, so this might be regarded as a surprise-attack)

Well, I may be a worrier (no, not warrior) anyway… ( )

Throughts? Well, not many I think . But you might be wrong about one thing: Even through Dokusen would be a great game, it’s very unclear if it would be successful, considering the fact that it is impossible to remove the mosaics in that game. I posted the poll to Dokusen quite a lot of times on quite many plvcaes, but I haven’t got more than about 200 votes. So even if Peach Princess does release Dokusen, I think that they will do it on a really small scale (300 copies or something like that), and that means that it could be that it would be a little expensive, to make up for the production costs (not that I care about that, through - I’d be happy to buy Dokusen if Peach Princess released it even if it would cost me 100 dollars or something like that ). but ont he other hand, Kumiko said that Dokusen wouldn’t cost as much to bring to the english market because of the fact that the mosaics has to remain - and it would get out quite quickly too.

Hmm, about Rouge, I think I’d like to see Utsushiki Hime or Kairaku released in english someday .

I considered the LMM and Critical Point issue as well, and considering how long LMM had been in production at that time I decided that it was possible that Sweet Basil had already finished up their side of the work on LMM and it was in Peach Princess’ hands to finish the conversion OR that Peach Princess decided that LMM was too big and they decided to put this project on hold and work on Critical point so they could generate more revenue. I think the 2nd option is more likely. Also the one game one time thing seems plausible since when gibo was given a release estimate and product page both News Caster Mariko AND Used Condom were both suddenly listed as temporarly suspended, and those 2 games were also guilty games. Also when Brave Soul was given a estimated date and product page X-Change 2 was listed as temporarly suspended and those are Crowd games. It just makes sense that if a company has to do work on a game in their spare time that they would work on ONE project at a time. On that note it is possible that LMM is still set aside and the game might be a Sweet Basil game.
Spectator
Well considering how much feedback they got on their previous game releases, Dokusen has recieved quite a bit, but it would surprise me if this was the game that they announced. But reading the summaries for the other games available and knowing what I would do if I were in PP’s shoes it is the game I would release.

Yeah, Konoha Challenge looks super cool, I had the demo and played through it, the character design is very very soft and warm, and the sibling interaction is very entertaining to watch. Not to mention it has a kick ass opening.

dokusen…let it be dokusen…: uts all her goddess powers behind her words:: lol

I’ll pray for that as well . however, I consider it higly unlikely at the moment, but I’ll still put all my love in my prayers!!
