Organization efforts for review/opinions and game guides

Hey all,

Mike Thomas here. Do forgive my lack of posts, and my serious abscence as of late. I’ve been poor on posting here, as of other life-stuff.

Anyway, I’ve noticed there is still a goodly amount of interest in promoting the genre, making reviews, and making game hint-guides, and I’d like to help.

I have a website, partially done, containing several reviews that myself, and members of the Bishoujo Gamers Review Club have written. And we have set up a Yahoo-group site to act as a second respository for files and such (should someone find another on-line place where you can post reviews, you can just cut/paste kinda thing.)

So, if anyone would care to join up, or have us contact you, please let me know. My email is ltcraggs@three-musketeers.net.

We’d be happy to work together to get the news out about bishoujo gaming out to the general audience. And, working together, would give us more clout and voice at places like Babbages, Electronics Botique, and other shops who should be carrying these games.

Thank you for your time
Mike Thomas

check your email, mike…i wrote to you already

Mike, just read your reviews on GameFAQs. Good work. (And I don't feel guilty about not getting around to submitting reviews myself anymore.) I also noticed that there are boards for the individual games there, it may be a good idea if we start some topic discussions there.

Also they do have an "event schedule" for Snow Drop there but it's more of a walkthrough than anything else since it pretty much says where to go when (Just fair warning before someone opens it up). Funny thing is, I remember seeing that list in it's original Japanese format and then using my translation software to read it. (I was looking for reviews at the time.) Don't know if the original author is the one who did the translation or not but there are some odd spots.

Anyone know why Water Closet isn't listed anywhere on the site? (Or if it is, where it's hiding?)

Yes, I am a customer

Anyway, I’ve also put up opinions (I’m not really qualified to post a review) of Tokimeki Check-In and X-Change, as well as a couple of Himeya Soft games, and JAST USA games.

I still haven’t seen a slot for Water Closet yet.

Mike

Actually I was really wondering about the author of the “Event Schedule” not the reviews. Not that it’s important, more curious than anything else. Also wondering if a chart similiar to that would be a good thing or not. Not one that says go here on day 2 and such but one that just says all the possible locations and who’d you meet if you went there then (but not what happens when you do go there.) Or maybe that’s too close to a walkthrough in itself. Sorry, I’m tired and rambling a bit.

And Mike, it’s not like many of us are qualified to post reviews. But getting something out there helps give some information and maybe perk some interests.

Hmm, guess we’ll just have to get them to put a Water Closet page up as well won’t we?

Gokuro-san, Mike. Well constructed reviews that will hopefully attract more than a handful of people to play the games. I am so tempted to get Snow Drop and X-Change but I am hearing the same complaints that X-Change is a way short game. I’m still very much hooked on Tokimeki Check-In! and trying to get all the endings, although why did they have to have happy endings? That is tripping me up, as I can’t figure out where the turning points for each girl is. I’m getting best endings before I get happy ones, and that is not a single happy ending.

X-change is short, yes... but very funny

It would not be a walkthrough - it would only be showing every location and event for the first three days of the game. As far as which locations and events are necessary to unlock the second half (your forgotten past) ... well, that would require some careful roleplaying, right? Hmm, maybe I'll toss one together. I know I do have a partial chart. Mainly because after awhile I did figure out where the key points were but I kept forgetting when they occurred. Well, if I do get one together, I'll probably toss it off to GameFAQs, it does seem the place for it. I'll let everyone know if that happens. (Or I may just spend the weekend catching up on my sleep... )

X-Change is short, yes, but it also is still very fun, and very comedic. It’s one of those games you can put in for an afternoon play, and just laugh a lot.

It’s not as deep as Tokimeki Check-in, but it is just as fun. If nothing else, for the tounge-in-cheek humor.
