btw, Peter [in case he happens to be reading this] - I really enjoy your Life in Japan anecdotes. I'm thinking of spending some time there next year for language study and your stories are partly to blame.

Aw, come on. Blame him completely!

I enjoy his little tidbits as well. It's interesting reading. Especially when I can relate some customs or traditions he mentions to ones in Hawaii. (Some I already knew had Japanese origins, some I only suspected.) And I'm always tickled pink when he mentions something like Anna Millers!

Payne-san's revelations about the trials of a gaijin living in Japan convinced me that it might be possible to survive there for a time, but my primary motive centers around a certain lady who lives in Osaka.

Ah, I’d forgotten about that. I’m guessing things are going well between the two of you then. Guess I should have been teasing you instead of Jeffrey-san about being in love…

At the moment we’re limited to calls, correspondence and NetMeeting, but we’re spending a couple weeks together in Hawaii next Spring. Then I’ll look into the possibility of a Japanese visa.

Moderator, help, please unsubscribe me from this thread.

Apparantly we're driving Bokmeow-san nuts so maybe we should continue this on the off-topic thread? But either way, if you need any ideas or recommendations while you're in Hawaii, let me know. (I'd offer to be a limited tour guide but I'm guessing you'd rather spend time alone with each other...)
