Pia Carrot

Anyone played this game? I found a site for it the other week and found myself charmed by the character profiles alone.

Aww, Yukiko-chan…

Anyway, the anime is out on DVD thanks to Right Stuf. It sure would be cool if they game were to be brought over (hint hint).

Yup.Lots of Similarities compare to Tokimemo.
Currently the series is into it’s 3rd incarnation, but the best is the the 2nd of the series.

For those who want to get the OVAs of the series and expect some stories in return.Stay away from the adult version of the OVAs as they have little in substance for Pia 1 and 2.Best get Pia 2 DX which is non-adult.

Again, the anime for Pia Carrot is fine, for a 3-part OVA. The game will never be here (and the anime for DX probably won't either, since it's not from a company who has licensed their work here so far.) The Pia Carrot and Pia Carrot 2 OVAs are very nicely done, though, and a true breath of fresh air for the English market. Highly recommended for English bishoujo fans.

Well, the OVAs are not bad per se, but IMHO they lack... substance. Also, I think they're mostly enjoyable by people who played the games (too many references to events of the games), compared to the TV series which can be fully enjoyable by people not knowing about the game. Even for a 3-part OVA.
But then, perhaps Orochi and I were spoiled by DX...

Six volume, one episode per volume. When I bought the first two volumes, it cost me 6090 yen each (CD Japan). However, just checking in Anime Jungle, they have the six volume set, used, for 20,000 yen. BTW, if you plan to order from them, they are having a “customer appreciation day”, in which they are waiving their 10% handling fee. It starts on March 12 to March 15 (caveat emptor, it has a beginning and ending hour, which is Japan time zone!)

okay, if anyone’s interested, got a simple review up for the third one (finally!)… not the only one I’m procrastinated on.

really like the artwork for this.

Tsukasa loves to Cosplay.

Is this referring to the first Pia Carrot or the entire Pia Carrot series? I really like the art in Pia Carrot 3 and I'm wondering if there's still a possibility that it could be translated into english.

[This message has been edited by d0rkus (edited 04-07-2002).]

But there are some companies who are translating these Bishoujo games into english (ex: Peach Princess). I’d think that translating a popular game such as Pia Carrot would be a smart move for them, seeing as their customers would be the type of people who would be interested in it. Is there more to it? Like licensing costs or the japanese company who owns the rights don’t want to sell it?

So let me get this straight....that quote above is referring to the Japanese companies not seeing any worth in the American market, right? I find it makes no sense if you are referring to the American companies like Peach Princess.
