Does it have yuri for your avatar?

There are “innuendo” support conversations between between same-sex characters (the My Unit included), but no full blown romance. Plotwise there’s a major reason for this.

Major Spoiler: You have children. They are in the game as characters and controllable units. Pure same sex love couldn’t have that.

I hope it does come over. But then, since they started bringing em over they haven’t skipped any game except one. And honestly, I don’t think the remake of the first game did all that well, so I was kinda disappointed but not too surprised when the second remake-of-a-really-old-game didn’t come over.

Do you have to?

Well… because it’s possible to permanently lose characters in Fire Emblem (death on the battlefield), it’s not mandatory that everyone has this experience. However certain characters cannot die or the game ends. Said characters must undergo this. If you don’t pick the relationships for them, the game will use whatever had the “highest value” between characters and default something together.

It’s better to plan ahead for good choices, then let the RNG throw something together and make the final battles harder than they should be. You’d also miss out on some character development, great XP, and various items. :expressionless:

In other words, the plot spans multiple generations of main characters? Cool, I look forward to it. So that means there has to be some time skips during the course of the game, right? Do they completely reset the party composition, or do they use … I don’t know what to call it – ‘soap opera chronodynamics’ where some people just don’t age the way you’d think they should?

Neat, I didn’t know they made things like this.

If I ever build my dream gameroom,it will have to have one of these bad boys.It will also include pachinko machines and at least one metal game.I might put in an air hockey and foosball table too.The possibilities are endless…

Also, you too could own your very own Italian hamlet!

So according to one guy, porn and video games are basically the same:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/05/25/ … ium=social

I get the sneaking suspicion the aforementioned guy hasn’t heard of eroge yet

The guy is a moron. Porn, video games, music, art, literature… basically all forms of artistic endeavour: they’re all media used to tantalize the senses, stimulate emotion, and spark imagination (and when handled by corporate hands, make profit of course). People like him try to claim porn and video games are NOT aristic mediums, which is legally and popularly not true.

He’s probably one of those people who has an agenda to censor porn and games… and intellectual enough to start the process, by attacking the very notion that they’re perfectly normal products of human ingenuity (so it can challenged in court they don’t deserve First Amendment protection).

Didn’t the Supreme Court already rule video games have the same protection as art?

They did: Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Association

Doesn’t mean people won’t try to get it appealed.

It runs deeper than that. There are much older developments in the case law. Basically, the fact that video games are protected speech is a foregone conclusion at this point. The Supreme Court has already made the “but it’s a new form of media!” mistake, and then reversed course; the interpretations of the First Amendment already extend to include as-yet-uninvented media.

Why do movie rating boards exist? The modern rating system (PG, R, etc) exists because the older censorship system collapsed. Why did the older system exist? Because the Supreme Court said that movies weren’t protected by the first amendment. It said, in part:

This was handed down - unanimously! - in 1915. It would remain valid for nearly 40 years, only being overruled by Burstyn v Wilson. Today there would be little doubt that the circus is protected by the First Amendment, or the theatre. But nearly a hundred years ago, there was (apparently) little doubt that the very idea was ridiculous. They weren’t used for the exchange of ideas! (Never mind that The Crucible was an attack on McCarthyism, or A Dolls’ House a scathing social critique.) They were a business! (As if newspapers and book publishers weren’t for-profit enterprises.)

And indeed, the opinion in Burstyn expressly disavows this language. Anything that communicates an idea is protected.

LOL… top nine items Japanese girls hate about Otaku:

At least eroge isn’t listed. :stuck_out_tongue:

Forgot to answer your post. Sorry.

Just two generations: Yours and your children.

No time skip. The children arrive via time travel magic.

Party size increases. You keep the parents and the children join the army. Because of the time travel, no one ages. Children can have support conversations with their parents and each other. Some parent-child conversations are entertaining (especially if mom was a loli). Children can have relationships with other children, but don’t have playable children (i.e. no third generation). Children starting class, promotion classes, and stat growth are determined by parents. Manakete (the dragon class) mother always has a Manakete child, so that’s pretty bad ass. Lord father will naturally spawn a Lord child. The “My Unit” (your character) can spawn just about any non-Lord or non-Manakete class child (unless the other parent is a Lord or Manakete, in which case, they have access to that).

EDIT
As I mentioned in a previous post, Sariya, is a yandere. Joy of joys, it turns out her daughter (Noire) inherits this trait. Yay!

She all timid and shy except around the guy she likes, to whom she’s obsessive, overprotective, and hates women being around (she call 'em pests).

I see. Any way to create a stable time loop where someone is their own parent?

With thanks to Ray Stephens, who in turn would like to thank Mark Twain for coming up with this outrageous howler.

You know what I love about China? They tell copyright lawyers to fuck themselves, because China doesn’t give a damn about copyrights and trademarks.

Check this out: Astro Plan 9. You get three guesses what series they ripped off to make it. First two don’t count. :stuck_out_tongue:

I mean, they might be starving and socially stunted, but even the North Koreans come up with their own original cartoons.

I find it amusing there are bootlegs of the bootleg.

The upcoming Hitman Absolution: Attack of the Saints features nuns with guns.

I know, I know. Hardly original. But still… NUNS WITH GUNS. :stuck_out_tongue:

Be better if they kept the habits on. Better than the ridiculous outfits they’ve got on underneath. Besides, you could probably fit some pretty decent armour inside a habit.
