Hurray! This is post number 1000, where I join the ranks of the few on the forum that have “OTAKU!” written under their name. It only took me 1 year, 4 months, and 18 days. Probably would have gotten it sooner, but it has been kind of slow lately.
Thankfully, it looks like Maryland is a state where for the most part unless Police discover anything hinky going on, the man is well within his rights to use deadly force against the intruder. On the down side though, it is through case law and not a statue like the well known one we have here in Colorado. Thanks to the statue we have here, I have no inhibitions about keeping a loaded weapon at the ready in my home. Besides, I’m sure it will be useful for the coming zombie apocalypse.

Thanks for the well wishes guys (as well as the lovely picture of Sora you posted Narg). I would have responded earlier, but I haven’t been able to find time to come here the last couple days. In part this is because of a family member who seems to have caught the much overhyped flu. Hopefully, I can keep from catching it as well, since I really don’t want to miss any of my Japanese III classes.
The nerdrage of Warhammer 40K players amazes me sometimes. Was in a game with some people, and somehow the topic turned into one about female Space Marines. I said the idea was cool… the others went on about how it was impossible, because women are inferior to men as warriors. I then pointed out there are millions of women who serve in militaries around the world, who could readily kick any one of their asses in a heartbeat. They then challenged me to prove one thing women are physically superior to men at: so I enlightened them that women have superior immune systems. Then they were droning on about men having superior endurance and strength, so I told them how all of that was irrelevant in the face of massive genetic engineering and super advance powered armor. Besides… it doesn’t matter if I can bench press twice as much as a female sniper, if she can kill me with precision accuracy from a quarter mile away.
So yea… their nerd rage went on and on over that…
I’m just saying female Space Marines would be cool. And no… Sisters of Battle don’t count… they’re nuns with guns - totally different fetish.
I got nothing against female space marines. This particular pic provides two important points:
