Ok, First, the main problem is, is that you don't have CD-DA listed as your music choice in the game options screen. (Make sure you have CD #2 in your CD-Rom drive when you do this.) The game runs a lot faster, without pauses for the music.
no doug still having the same problem no matter what option i chose and whether i have the compad, set to win2k or whatever the game hangs, btw i do use cd 2. I’ve tried everything windows XP just doesnt seem to like the program at all.
Just upgrade to Windows 98 - problem solved.
i would be downgrading if i went from XP to 98
I use XP as well and have TCI set to CD-DA and don’t have any problems with it. (It runs great right from the get go). Did you Upgrade to XP? Or did it come with the Computer you bought? If you upgraded you might want to check for updated drivers for your Sound Card. (There’s native support for early Sound Blasters, but not for the latest ones (i.e Live!, Audigy))
that could very well be my problem although i dont know what type of sound card i have it came with the comp and ive been too busy upgrading the vid card and HD to worry about the sound card at the moment… hmm, let me see if i cant find another updated driver. yeah i upgraded to winXP from winMe

Not only didnt EA support Alice it also didnt support one of my fav games of all time Red Alert 2.
They had plenty of time to know XP was coming out and yet they still didnt offer support for it.
btw it was the sound drivers I went and bought me a SB Live! today and tried the game and it works perfect thanks Doug and Kumiko for your support.
how the hell did I spell WinXP WhenXP…must get more sleep lol

just a few weeks ago i upgraded from a 533mhz to a 1ghz. I’m still using Win98 but, besides from that one, what would be the best windows to use for bishoujo games? The only thing stopping me from upgrading (I actually have winME box sitting in the corner in my room) is cause i think I’ll have problems with other windows when playing bishoujo games…
