Ouch!
I won’t be posting anything, let alone a nice Xallie/Ryo moment, for a few days. I won’t have access to a computer until Sunday night at the earliest.
I have a few ideas I want to try out though, so hopefully when I get back and that black cloud is gone I can speed up my contributions some.
So…a date with Eri, eh?
All I can say is that Brant takes his girlfriends to the damnest places…places where he can–so it would seem-- endanger their lives and not have to spend much money doing it. I have to wonder if there’s much of a chance for a long term relationship here. Brant is so emotionally distant and invulnerable that I don’t think he’s giving Eri much to work with here. After all, when Eril remarked that the wolves probably thought that she was his mate, he told her she was being presumptious. In my world, such a remark would be a deal killer for sure.
Why is it that women always moan when they’re having sex in stories like this? All my life I’ve never heard a woman moan. What I usually heard was: “Ow! You have sharp elbows.”
So Kokoro is suffering but not in danger yet? As usual, Iris seems to know more arout what’s going on with Heart than I do. I’d like to get back to her soon, but I’ve got at least one more Yoshimi story to get out of the way. The Wife thinks I’m treating Yuki badly by involving her in a triangle with Yoshimi.
Kurocorazon? That’s an odd name. A combination of Japanese and Spanish is it? Does it mean “Black Heart?” Are we going to be seeing this guy again?
I Tried.
So spending money and endangering their lives is fine. (That’s how I read it but know that was not what it meant or did it?)
Not giving Eri much to work with?
You read it wrong. It said That he was presumption not her. Unless I understood you wrong.
Good question.
I’m taking Kokoro’s dream into account or rather she’s held by them in some place.
Yes it does. Probably Brant does have to pick something up from that place or leave it.
Just wanted to pop in to say I’m still hear and reading. I’m currently struggling with another story elsewhere, so I’m not sure when I’ll get back to this one yet. Sorry for the delay.
[i][You read it wrong. It said That he was presumption not her. Unless I understood you wrong. /i]
Yes, I did read it wrong. So she was just being coy with him, eh?
When I write dialogue, I always tag the speaker with “he or she or it said” or some variation thereof. I, myself, can easily lose track of whose speaking, and I assume the reader will, too. In fact, an old writing book I once had said that the writer should think of the reader as someone who is intelligent, but a bit slow-witted.
Well, Kokoro had been missing for several months now (since late November), and I’m getting worried about her, but I have a few other things on my plate to take care of first. Fortunately, she has her Guardian Angel, in the person of Aquamarine. Although you may wonder what the hell kind of Guardian Angel betrays you to the Enemy. Buddha works in mysterious ways, I guess.
So is Etsuji acting?
Rex find something or nothing?
Rex and Brant meeting? (If so you handle it. But then they may never meet.)
/Note Brant will disappear. Why? He didn’t tell me completely. What will happen with his disappearance don’t know.
//Note Kokoro near her breaking point (Madness or something else, perhaps Aquamarine has something to do with it) at least I think.
So Brant is leaving? On some mysterious mission? Too bad, because things are going to start to happen in old Moriyoh town. We’ve been introduced at last to Beast Dom, the Napoleon of Meowtis, altho he’s not quite the world-beater he used to be. And Kuchisake (she’s so cute) is up to her old tricks, as well. I’m looking over the old character list to see if there are any female characters who might make a good virgin sacrifice (like, whatever happened to that girl, Junsei?). And I brought in Rex just to agitate Yuki and Yoshimi, but I think he might work out. The story needs some more strong male characters, anyway. I’m not sure about Rex and Brant meeting, but I would like him to meet Iris (a woman that powerful could hardly have escaped the notice of an outfit like U.N.C.L.E), maybe Etsuji could introduce them.
Unfortunately, I have to go see how Heart is doing, so it may take awhile before I get back to Moriyoh, myself. For your information, she’s not suffering as much as you think…yet.
What better reason for him to leave than when things are starting to get interesting.
Who’s to say she doesn’t already work for uncle or had worked for uncle and realized that there methods end up having useless to no results. She could even be a branch of uncle that handles matters that uncle official couldn’t.
Have them meet however you want.
/Note I’m not sure if I’ll post the opening of the post and make it the start of the time his way, making the days that I don’t put the rest of the post up as days he disappears. Should I or Should I not. (Don’t know how to explain it right.)
Another long flashback coming up, I’m afraid. But it’s needful in order for me to catch us up with Iris. The Wife was a little confused about why Aquamarine had to go around the car and get in on the left side, until I pointed out that in Japan the driver sits on the right and they drive on the left side of the street. In fact, I don’t know for sure if this is the case, and for the observant, I forgot it myself when Jose went into the bakery and came back and got into the car on the right side. I’ll have to change that someday, when I get around to editing these stories.
The Wife also asked if Iris is going to come to Kokoro’s rescue, but I couldn’t answer that. For one thing, I, myself, don’t know what kind of danger Kokoro is in yet. It’s an interesting idea, but let’s not invoke Iris just yet.
As for Iris working for U.N.C.L.E. ? It’s a possibility, altho I’ve always sort of thought of her (and by extension, the whole Otera-Locke clan) as a one-woman rogue nation.
Chaos,
I gather that Iris would like to meet up with Rex. Well, what woman wouldn’t? You know it is haname season in Japan now. So why couldn’t they get together for a little cherry blossom watching. And just to make it interesting, he about we bring Yuki and Yoshimi along, as well. Heck, make it a party and include Etsuji, Chinpo and Eri, as well.
Rex and Iris could carry on a conversation loaded with secret meaning, while Yuki and Yoshimi look on with puzzlement and dismay, burning up with jealousy.
How would you like to try your hand at that? I would, but I have to check in with Kokoro next, and after that there’s some nasty business with the Tairano Maskkado Rebellion ahead. So it might be a little while before I can pen another story about Rex and friends.
Oh! I almost forgot. And while they are viewing the cherry blossoms, something violent could happen. You’ve got three master fighters: Iris, Rex and Yoshimi. Nothing can hurt Etsuji. And Chinpo, ever since that night with Kuchisake, has been working out with Master Taro at the temple where his girlfriend, Kitsune, works as a Miko. I’m not sure about Yuki. She’s better with a needle and thread, but Eri could protect her.
That’s asking for a lot. Three plus one (Brant) normally.
First I need more info on Rex.
Second Chinpo well maybe he’ll stay for awhile before the fox (well her name is Kitsune) calls him but then probably not given I don’t have a feel on him.
Third Eri protect Yuki, how? Yuki’d probably faint from the first blood is splashed onto any of the three.
'Side from that I’ll see what I can do.
/Note Brant is out of commission given he was bleeding out. Dead? If so he should of took more people with him.
//Note Apparently we’re carrying this thread on our shoulders. Ah well so long as its read I don’t mind.
Sorry about the absence. I’ve been keeping up with the stories so far. I just posted a small continuation… though it jumps the events I had planned.
I’ll try to post a bit more regularly.
Info on Rex?
Well, he was born the son of White Fang and Black Tooth, but became an orphan during the Meow Meow Uprising. Fortunately, he was adopted by a rich, eccentric Englishwoman named Woodhill (a tweedy, Miss Marples type) and inherited a considerable fortune upon her death. Educated at Oxford and Eton, a devil at Rugby, Cricket, and Frisbee. Fought in several brushfire wars with the Punitive Forces. Has worked for British MI6, Interpol, and now U.N.C.L.E. Has worked on and off with Yoshimi and had an off and on intimate relationship with her that she’d like to renew. Has knowledge of most weapons, but specializes in Dogfighting, a particularly brutal form of martial arts, which is in contrast with his usual cultured, well-mannered behavior. He dresses nice. His cover in Moriyoh is as an instructor in English Literature at JAST-a subject he is well-qualified to teach. He’s gifted with a remarkable sense of smell. He can remember everything and everyone he’s ever sniffed. Call it a photographic nose. It also serves as a pretty good lie detector. He can usually detect untruth or evasion in a person from the way their body odor changes.
I’ll probably have more to say about him as time goes by.
If you’re doubtful about Chinpo (Yuki’s brother), we can just say that he went to another haname party with his girlfriend, Kitsune-who is human, by the way, not actually a fox. But she works at the shrine of Inari, the rice god, who is also closely associated with foxes. I’m not sure that are any fox girls in Sakura World, but, according to ancient Japanese tradition, it is possible for a person (usually a woman) to become possessed by a fox spirit. (Are you getting my drift here?)
Why couldn’t Eri protect Yuki? We really don’t know anything about what she’s capable of, do we? So there’s a lot we could make up. After all, she is the granddaughter of Beast Dom, and-also-- couldn’t Brant have shown her a thing or two about fighting if she had asked him to? On the other hand, she doesn’t have to be a kick ass fighter just to protect Yuki, just enough to hold off the opposition long enough to get them both up a tree, maybe.
True, you, K, and myself are the only ones currently working this thread right now, but who knows what the future may bring. Personally, I’m deeply grateful to Dark Shiki for starting this thing, because I’m having a blast. I really love these characters. Right now, I’m having fun with Aquamarine (you can probably tell; she makes a wonderful counter-foil to Binkan), whom I originally borrowed from Equatorean-and I thank him for that. At first, I was just using her to make boob jokes with, but she has since taken on a fascinating little life of her own. That’s the payoff that comes with writing these things, you know.
Nice to see you back K, with that brief and puzzling entry. Trouble in Paradise?
It’ll expand slowly, so we’ll see how much angst it developes.
Bamboo: About him speaking Spanish well I’d take it he could of need to learn given he was MI6 and Interpol not saying he had missions in other country but maybe he did.
Chaos,
I enjoyed you story; it was exciting. The bit where you have Iris and Rex speaking Spanish was a stroke of genius. When I suggested that they speak in code, I just had some vague notion of them using some kind of inuendo, with secret meanings the others wouldn’t get, but Spanish was a better idea. As to your suggestion that Rex picked it up during his career as a secret agent, it’s quite likely, but I’d like to suggest another theory. Say that in the 1500’s, Spain colonized the southern islands of Meowtis (where Rex comes from) and inpressed Spanish culture and language on them (much like they did in the Phillippines). So, while Rex is a thorough-going Englishman, he still retains knowledge of his parent’s language.
I’m working on my next post, but bad health is slowing me down. I think by Sunday, however, I may have something.
Hope its nothing serious. You WILL get well.
Finally got a new story posted, despite having had a spate of bad health. Hopefully, it won’t take as long the next time.
I hope our friends are amused by the many allusions to various JAST eroge. Himeda Ridge is now an official part of Sakura World. And can the cat maid Kohaku be the same as the cat priestess from “Let’s Meow Meow?” If so, she’s trading places with Mikan. The lovely and yuri-oriented Miss Sugimoto is derived in part from Aya Sugimoto, former idol singer, gravure model and star of a couple of SM movies (Hana to Hebe 1-2) and the German lady who pops up in Excel Saga from time to time, isn’t it?
