Question on a Couple games

Aight, first lets start with a old game I have been considering for awhile now (gotta really look a game over before I spend $80.00 on it). Anyone played D+vine [LUV]. From what I have read on a couple sites it runs on english windows and doesn’t require much Japanese knowledge (damn Kanji is tough to master, but soon I will prevail!?!) heres a couple links:

Second, I noticed Himeya had a game from Light called “Lagnalock”. The graphics look like it could have some RPG elements, even though Himeya lists as a ADV+SIM they have listed wrong before. I checked the webpage:

Anyone played a Light game before? I never heard of them but I like their artwork. Also you can get info at:

Hmm, I just hope they do the things they do out of that interest with care... sometimes, there is things like minor errors, like, for example in the Oh My Goddess manga... Names, for example, can be spelled VERY different... For example, Belldandy is accually spelled Verdandi (might have spelled one or two letters wrong)

Actually, Belldandy is the name version used for the English market (ah, translation snafus!). Her name, in katakana, is Berudandi (the last syllable, was meant to be DEi, but DEi wasn't defined in romanji, as I was told from the Anihabara ML). If you think about it, Verdandi, can be pronounced in Japanese as Berundadi. So, the Japanese didn't make the mistake, after all! (Besides Belldandy sounds a lot more cute than Verthdandi!)

PS: BTW, don't let us begin a war, now, of Ah! My Goddess! vs. Oh! My Goddess! Belldandy won't approve that!

Don't worry, I have no interest in starting a war [img]http://princess.cybrmall.net/ubb/smile.gif[/img] It's just, as I said, that I'm worried about things like that : errors because of translations and/or other things. It's kind ofr natural that I'm worried, since I'm from one of these countries where these legends came from... and since I'm also very interested in them by myself, I'm kind of worried about possible errors that would cause misunderstandings.

I've nothing against people who want to do movies, anime and things like that with our legends as ground. No, far from it! I'd actually be happy to see more of those things in, for example, anime... Oh My Goddess is, I think, the only manga/anime where there's some trails of our legends... Or, perhaps Kumiko knows of something more? [img]http://princess.cybrmall.net/ubb/biggrin.gif[/img]

IIRC, Fujishima Kosuke said in one of his interview that while he knew that the romanization of “Berudandi” was Verdandi, he used Belldandy because it was cuter.

On another subject, you have Norse mythos elements in Saint Seiya (2nd series) and in the “Tales of Phantasia” game.

Since the Demos can’t always tell…
don’t bother using demos to see if games work in English Windows. But yes, D+Vine Luv does run and install in English Windows, though you will need a program like Richwin to see the fonts in the game. Otherwise it was easy to play and finish without knowing Japanese.

I’ve only played 2 games by Light(Custom Sex Doll and White Angel) They both worked in English Windows but Custom Sex Doll Needs JWin to display the fonts.
