Question: Peach Princess staffing?

I’d say less than 5; let’s say 3.

On which side of the Pacific? I mean, somehow the guys who are working in Will and Crowd doing the work over Japan can be considered as employees, too. Now, if you mean only the ones working over this side, I would say less than 7.

I’d say about 12.

Less See… no more then 8…not including
the “Home” company… BUT. Kumiko sweetie…

could you PLEASE post a Pic of all you hard-workers? I just know you look just like your graphic…

I would say 12, but I also think that a lot of them have day jobs and are working without real pay at the moment at Peach Princess. I know one small company that has a whole staff that doesn’t get paid at all. Technically the company can be as small as 1 person, but I think in order to qualify for health benefits with an insurance company the minimum number is 8.

Okay let’s break down what we know from what we don’t know about the permanent Employee’s at PeaPri.

Kumiko : Customer Service Rep.

Dave E : Head of Quality Assurance and lead Interpretor. (He doesn’t do the translations, but he does do the Interpretations of the translation.)

OK that’s 2. They’re only ones mentioned on the web site. Now the sales dept. is probably run by 3 to 6 people. Then you have the QA Dept. which would be at the most 3-4 people because at the most you guys have 4 computers at the site because you now support 3 Operating Systems (95/98/Me, 2000, and XP) for Playtesting purposes and you would need a PC free to handle your compiler and edit work on the various games in progress. Tech Support is probably handled in-house by hardware savvy person and is probably either Dave E or one of the QA guys. Any thing major you probably use one of those Flat-fee services various Computer shops offer.

(Does anybody feel like your watching The Princess Bride after that little tirade)

So I would say about 12 people.

i’m voting ten people 10 10 10! cause i like the number and it screams “PeaPri” at me! doesn’t anyone else hear it?

Way too high? Hmm, I would think Olf-san’s guess would probably be the closest then. I’ll say about 5 myself. Doug-san has the breakdown of the two people we know about. Beyond that, I would guess around 2 people in sales/shipping. (Btw, I really appreciate the fact that so far I tend to get my orders from you guys faster than I do, well, from most any other company I have dealings with on the mainland. ) Then a combination playtester/technical support person. Then again, it could be even lower depending on how involved the owner and President of the company are. (I know at my old place, when they first started out, the owner and CEO would often work in the support department as well as act as team leads in the engineering department as well.)

Of course, it’s hard to say because I’m guessing that like in most small companies, several people are wearing several different hats and there’s a lot of overlap. And the fact that when people are really into their work, they often can produce more than you would expect.

Alright this is how I think the company has to broken down to as a minimum.
2 translators- this seems to be the bulk of the work Peach Princess would do itself.
1 salesman- sales are low as Kumiko repeatidly points out. Also this I’d believe to be the person I met at BAAF.
1 technical person- Someone to playtest and communicate with the Japanese game makers may speak Japnanese but would be tied down with technical work.
My min guess would be 4 employees.

Will i konw the answer. is it ok to say Kumko-san or shuld I wait?

Translators aren’t full time? Hmm… interesting. I thought the length of the dialogues would be enough to keep them constantly busy. Also as you said the specialization required I thought would make it difficult to hire them on a case by case basis necessitating full time employment. Well then I’ll change my vote to 2.

Oops more to read from Kumiko than I thought. Please say hello to Dave. I enjoyed speaking with him at BAAF at your booth. I was the one who took a long time to figure out what to buy at the convention. So many things I want to buy, so limited funds. I picked up Tokimeki Check-In. Great game, looking foward to Brave Soul. BTW after further reading I guess I should change my vote again to 3. I should read more carefully for those longer posts.

snap my finger

Hmm… I knew only two employers here (Kumiko and Peter). Let me check who will be accountant, businese manager, computer technician, security guard, message boy/slave lol that message boy will call, “Yes, Queen Kumiko”, I forgot other employees.

I guess only 8 employees.

Humm, the little hints above. Ok relavation…

Bet you Bishoujo Kumiko Kamiyama REALLY is the the owner! That takes it down to 2 state-side poeple. Member all the “refitting” is most likely done by the orignal oem. They would have to keep it small just so they can
have enough sales to cover the pay-roll

I maintain my “3” guess. Seeing the work done by PeachPri and the profit made, “3” seems to be the right number. More and PeachPri would have staffing trouble, because people have to eat to live (i.e. being paid a minimum); less and the 2 poor souls would be too overwhelmed to give us the efficient work they did. “4” would be a good number as well…

Hmm, you know that's kinda true. How many of us know who the owner and/or the president of the company is anyways? And the whole full-time/part-time thing is throwing me as well. Which it really shouldn't. I know for the amount of servers the support team I'm on maintains and work on, most companies would have a full time staff of at least 8. We have two full-time, one part-time and one manager (who's always in meetings so I usually don't count him.)

Though if there are so few employees, I'm sort of wondering how the heck you have time to free up people like Dave E to go off to conventions. (Oh but don't stop going to them, I'm still hoping to go to the San Diego Comic Con and meet people there. )

I’ve read that Peter Payne runs or owns Peach Princess. What’s his role in the company?

isn’t j-list and PP connected in some way? cos they seem to have similar content (cept jlist has tones of other stuff)
maybe PP & Jlist should combine work forces you might be able to build up the market a bit
back to topic:

just readin through let me ask 1 Q how can there be 2 employies? thats too much work just 4 2 peeps i’d say min of 4 max of 8

You can think of J-List as more of a general merchandiser then PeaPri is. Hmm, the best analogy I can think of right now is that J-List is something like Amazon.com while PeaPri would be more like an individual book publisher. But they do tend to work together and help each other out.

hmm thats what i thought to, still PP is the 3rd most visited site in my list  2nd jlist
1st rattle snake (PP should go kill em! two of PP/Crowd’s games XC an TCI are there available to dl) when the server works
