Cray are still around making crazily powerful machines.

Maybe not, but I had a sad moment in a Grav Ball board game, when a smurf threw the ball right into the face of Dan the Man, my best Forward, and killed him straight out… (Dang smurfs…)

Oh yeah back in my day we didn’t have pen or paper we only had sticks, so we drew figures in the dirt and that was our game

As for saddest momentys Aerith dying was pretty sad especially when I though she and cloud shoulda hooked up. Kana is the ultimate in sad though. I still refuse to play that game because I don’t want to be depressed for weeks.

A couple other sad moments that stand out for me (in ascending order of tragedy): Megumi’s self-sacrificing death in Chain, The realization of Tina’s fate in Desire, and Ryo’s sense of loss over Miyo, despite her final words in Crescendo. Nothing beats Kana, however…

When Spirit Dies in Wing Commander II and there’s nothing you can do about it.

“I will wait for you in Heaven” (translated she uses the japanese when she talks to Blair in the game)

Oh YEAH? Well, back in MY day we were just a bunch of amino acids, we didn’t even have sentience so we could play “pass the carbon atom”, or anything at all! HA!

Ok, maybe that was a slight exaggeration…

As for saddest moment, definitely Kana.

Crono Cross, Kid’s story. It’s coming out again as a remake.

Please tell me too.

Considering I couldn’t find anything about it on the 'net yesterday I think it’s safe to assume it’s not true.

I think he was trying to create a sad moment in gaming history…

Oh yeah? *adopts "old geezer voice"* Well back in my day, we had to rely on text for games... they didn't have sprites or pixies, or whatever you call them damn things! We actually had to read the stories, so they actually had to have some form of content... I mean what could be more meaningful than Zork, right? Hey back in my day you had real games and computer CG's were TEXT on green bar paper.

If so, it worked splendidly. I felt sad, though it still didn't reach up to Kana.

LOL… That’s okay, since it was really something along the lines of one of those urban myths… Kana was a true sad moment in gaming history.

My saddest moment in gaming? The day I bought TRansfer Student. I can’t believe that I spent money on that miserable excuse for a coaster.

The saddest videogame moment for me was when Lucia gets sent back to the Blue Star in Lunar: Eternal Blue. ;_; She was just starting to understand love/human emotion and she has to leave Hiro. But about an hour later I beat the Epilogue and they got reunited so all was well. =D

I didn’t really think Aeris dieng in FFVII was all that sad… but then again I wanted Cloud to hook up with Tifa the whole time anyways. =X

Aeris' death didn't really affect me all that much, either. Such is the pernicious nature of spoilers.

As for the saddest moment in a video game ... how odd; I've played tons of video games, and can't think of any at the moment >_<. I guess I'll have to go with the moment in Silent Hill where you figure out all the gory details concerning Lisa.

You know, as I think about it, for some reason I never really got that far along in FFVII–I don’t know why. I think my personal life got in the way of my computer gaming life. But I was more interested in Tifa myself, and actually figured that the game was going to stick me with Aeris… I’m not sure how I would have reacted…
