I just purchased Seinarukana and am having problems starting the game. Every time I attempt to do so I get a hr80004005 error message immediately and the game shuts down.
I am running Windows 10 and have ensured that all of my drivers are up to date.
I got the same issue. I tried to set it to full screen when it 1st started and then it became a black screen even though the menu was there from what I heard. So I had to shut it down, and after that it keeps giving the same error in the original post.
It seems similar to the Yumina issue that happened when running it on Windows 10.
Getting the exact same error as Aurora after exiting the game from the Save Menu. I’ve tried launching from a fresh install but still get the same error.
A simple fix that worked for me: Reinstall the game into a different directory and don't try to use your old saves.
Got those start-up error too while switching to fullscreen via ALT+ENTER and then leaving the game after a while.
The work around that seems to be working for me is to run the game in 8-bit (256) reduced color mode. You only seem to be able to play it in full screen this way, but otherwise it is working fine for me.
Properties > compatibility > Check the reduced color mode box which should be defaulted to 8-bit (256)
I’m having the same problem as the topic creator here, changing compatibilty settings doesn’t seem to do much to help (sometimes I go to a config box instead, then it crashes after I set my config, or doesn’t even let me open the game)

like kittygoop said - you can fix it if you set the game.exe to run in 8-bit mode…
The error happens only if you start the game in windowed mode… so be sure to exit the game in fullscreen. Because if you exit the game in windowed it will be saved… and on start you will get the error like the topic creator.
I already tweeted Jast Usa/Tim some time ago and he said it will be fixed in the next patch. But for now you’ll have to go with the workaround fix to force the game into fullscreen again at startup…

I could try tinkering with it but I don’t know where the configuration file is saved. I tried moving the save directories and I didn’t get that “first-run” popup box.
