Sexist Roles

Why are there no gay anime games or movies
or anything because it is rather sexist to conncentrate on just men and women or women doing it with women. And is all anime created by sex crazed men because the women in all anime things are depicted as sex crazed maniacs and as a woman i find that very offensive because we are not all mad about sex. Finaly why do none of the anime women wear make up and sexy silk underwear to turn men on because not all men judging from experience are turned on by you flashing a bit of flesh.

Hmm, don’t know about games but there are a few gay anime movies. My personal preference isn’t for gay anime so I don’t know many titles off-hand, but the one’s I’ve either heard or read about include “Lesson XX”, “Kizuna”, and “FAKE”. Of course, not having seen them either, I’m not 100% sure what’s included in the content.

And no, not everything is made by sex crazed men. It’s a bit harder to determine the gender of the artist since I’m unable to determine any gender clues from a Japanese name. But several female artists have been discussed on this forum at various times.

Hmm, because of the anime form itself, unless you see a character putting on makeup, it’s kinda hard to tell if they’re wearing any or not. (Or it is for me.) Eyeshadow is rather easy to show visually but how does one depict blush or concealer? I have seen female anime characters in sexy underwear, beats me if they’re silk or not. (I mean, it may look lacy and sexy, but I can’t tell what anime clothes are supposed to be made out of. Could be cotton for all I know.)

Well, there are games, animes, doujinshi and manga that involve men and only men.
Ya, just gotta look around…check for Yaoi, bishonen, Shonen-ai and boys love.
Ebay has alot of Yaoi Doujinshi and Manga.
I can even give you some links to people that sell yaoi doujinshi and nothing else.

There are alot of adult based games, books and animes that are created by women, just remember it’s all about fantasy. We have them too…(and they aren’t always Cinderella-like)

No, not all women are sex crazed and willing to do anything at anytime. Thats why there are games like this ^^! Someone may not be willing to act on a fantasy but would’nt mind seeing someone/or something else do so.

Truthfully some men can care less about what a woman is wearing when sex is involved (lol)
Then others have certain fetishes, like panty and Dress-up.

You must not be familiar with Japanese art/culture yet (and it’s many Fetishes) ^
^
People here will explain further! Read some threads as well.

Well if you explain the japanese culture then maybe i will understand more.and maybe i wont judge entirely on what i see.And in regards to the links if you could tell me them then i would be very gratefull because there’s nothing i like more than to see nice looking men going at it.

Also because they are school girls it’s a bit of a turn off when there wearing school clothes because i would prefere to see them in skin tight clothes because i find it turns men on more and why is there only a small amount of nudity because it seems in most games that it is a couple of tit flicks one fanny shot and then its a long wait for the next shour nude scene and they are mostly still images no action so you dont get the full effect of penetration and plessure i think they need more action and less talking.

Huh? what are you talking about? You are a girl right? How can you be so sure that what turns men on more or less? There are things out there that are constant sex while there is romance and drama and such. Like LaBlueGirl is one of those constant sex stuff type thing. While something like TeachersPet is a little less, and something like PiaCarrot is more of a drama and comedy. I don’t know where you’re coming from with all this, but it seems that you don’t really know much of what’s out there. I hope you don’t take this offencivly.

look you twat i have been out with lots of men a i think i know what turns them on and if you get turned on by little school girls that all have the same idea which get my knickers off whenever i can then you are a sad pervert and your youser name suits you freak. And there maybe girls tht play the games an i know a mature woman wouldnt get turned on by little school girls wearing old fashioned pleated skirts an i feel that they need to vary the dress sense because not all women dress the same and do the same things. anime so i am told is about life but most of what i have seen is about rany little school girls that all have the same ideas.

Remember, no verbal attacks. We need to try and be as opened minded as possible and not immediately jump to the defensive or offensive. Great, now I’m starting to do what Bokmeow-san normally does. (Just kidding dude… )

Like H-Gurl-san said, you can go search through some of the topics and you’ll find several discussions on Japanese fetishism. As for some of fetish preferences of people here on the BBS, this was a thread Kumiko-san started last year:
http://princess.cybrmall.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000349.html

The amount of, er, action versus “talking” various from game to game. Just like other computer games, it depends on what you’re looking for. For several of us, the storyline behind the game is what we enjoy and the sex sometimes almost incidental. At least, I think that’s what you’re asking. If by “action” you actually meant that you want actual motion, then the Viper series is probably your best bet.

Sorry, jumping around a bit on this post. If you want to check out some of the varity of anime and games, I recommend going through some of the fan review sites like Hentai Neko or Animetric.
For some insights into Japanese culture, you can go to Peter Payne’s website http://www.peterpayne.net and go through some of the old J-List greetings. Usually these lead with some discussion of the culture and some of them are rather interesting.

Okay, I need to get back to work. Hopefully some of these links may help give you a little more information.

ekylo thank you very much and sorry about the offensive words

ROTFL!
*Very Evil Grin*

KUmiko i see where your coming from and i wasn’t trying to force my opinion on anyone i was just trying to get my point of view across and freak just suck his nose in where it wern’t wanted nd i didnt like that so itold him straight. And i know that japanese culture is diffrent because i have been to japan with my mom and dad when my dad had to work over there for six months. But you are pointing out yourself that most school girls like to dress that way however not all girls do but you dont include what they wear i think it’s mainly games that i am comparing. Because i find they are the best way to see anime and understand there culture. And the main question i was trying to get answered is why is alot of anime sexist. And in regards to culture alot of japanese girls have mobile phones and eating out a resteraunts. Also not many japanese girls walk alone they mainly have alot of freinds and in the anime games you dont see much if any of these things.

No problem, just wanted to try and catch things before they got out of control. Seems like a few threads in the past month have gone that way and Bokmeow-san's done a good job of trying to stop things before they got out of hand. (Prompting my little dig at him. As for why anime seems a bit sexist, I think it's like Kumiko-san said earlier, it's more a reflection of what's "popular" in the English marketplace. Like the general adult industry in the US, it seems like only recently that the market for gay videos and magazines have expanded. (Or at least I'm sure getting a lot more junk email and snail mail for those types of things.) And I know that I'm starting to see a lot more ads for various fetishisms like bestality. But previously, only heterosexual or lesbian items were deemed "popular" and made up the majority of what was available.

There's more anime out there then schoolgirls, dragonball Z and pokemon (though judging by the shelves at the local video stores, you wouldn't know it), it just hasn't made it over here yet. I'm a bit luckier than most because fan-dubbing is very popular and available locally, meaning I can hear English versions of anime that isn't "popular" but is quite good. (I won't go into the legality issues of fan-dubs. That's a whole other debate.) There's a wide variety of stuff out there, unfortunately we just get a small select slice of it. 'Sexist' shouldn't be tossed around casually like a catch phrase. The Great Artists appreciated the beautiful artform of the human body, and we do likewise nowadays, but it doesn't seem as acceptable to portray the beauty of the male nude anymore, don't you think? What does one think really, when one sees a male nude? This is an anecdotal story, so don't take it seriously, but it's interesting. My sister's roommate has a poster of Michaelangelo's David in their living room, and when their [female] friends come over, they express admiration and praise for the poster; when their male friends come over and see the poster, they express discomfort and confusion, one even said 'uh, why do you have a poster of a naked guy in your living room?'

When people think feminists they associate with furious, overzealous attack on adult literature and video that they deem exploitative to the female gender, but the reality of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century was that they were a disenfrachinsed gender, couldn't work, couldn't vote. Even African Americans had voting power in Philadelphia as an experiment until early twentieth century. The problem of the twentieth century and twenty-first century now is the wage gap between genders is still great, females have less promotional prospects than men for extrinsic and intrinsic reasons, and the smaller social network which females have access to as a consequence of their smaller percentage of participation in professional workforce. There is also a great number of single mothers raising children, and they get little aid, both public and private, and the perception that women are not primary breadwinners is a big strike against them.

Thank you bokmeow for seeing where i was coming from and i think you sound a great person that i would like to get to know you better because i have always wanted to be like you are very timid and able to stop situations from escalating and i think that some people wernet reading the question properly and seeing where i was coming from.

Unfortunately, this happens a lot here. Between the different backgrounds and language usage, misunderstandings abound. I know more than once, I stated something and someone read it in a totally different way then I intended. That's why we try to keep as open a mind as possible at times, doesn't always work but we try!

Hmmm, I just sorta assumed the "Tank Girl" reference was either a) a reference to the comic or movie b) a reference to Dominion Tank Police or c) you're in the military. (Not that it matters, I've yet to understand half the names around here.)

i just wanted to say that it is great to have you here, Tankgirl, and it’s great that you are able to talk to us reasonably…

we love sucking in new people lol…and i totally understand your thinking of many games as being sexist, but in many ways it is not nearly as bad as a lot of american culture products…the girls may wear scanty clothes sometimes in bishoujo/anime games, but nine times out of ten they have depth and true personality, which many american games lack…i mean, how many times can the american public really stomach that big-breasted girl in short tight camos with a big gun? obviously a lot, since it keeps happening…i personally, as a woman, find things like that more demeaning to women than any bishoujo game, even the ones where women are dominated

Hey ekylo the name is in reference to the film because she reflects alot of my character and it’s nice to know that somebody has had the same problem and could i ask are you a female because your very kind and conciderate and very understanding and no offence to men but yoou dont find many men like that. And lady phoenix thank you for the kind welcoming and i must agree with you. But i think that its like that in america because there is alot of prostitution and erotic dancing over there so that probably reflects a bad image and i must admit i have a very nice figure but i wouldnt feel clean if i showed it to the whole country. However the bishojo games are more refined and like kumiko said the show a school girl wanting to find out about themselves and experience the delight that is sex.
