Some money-making / promo ideas

This saves you money despite our costs, so naturally increased sales are required by us. That's true for any product - for example, rent normaally increases even if the landlord doesn't want to do it, simply because their cost of leasing an apartment or whatever goes up.

  • There are thousands of adult entertainment commercial sites on the net, aren't they interested in carrying PeaPri titles? My hubby is always surfing adult sites, and there are a lot who carry adult DVDs, VHS, magazines, and even some games... but no bishoujo games!

  • Our products can be bought and sold used on eBay or through other auction places, or even simply by asking on forums ("does someone have this game and want to sell it to me?") At a used price, it would probably be about 50% of SRP. Again, this saves you $$$, but still supports the legitimate product.

  • You know I actually tried to look for used bishoujo games on auction in ebay, and to my disappointment, there weren't any legit copies!!! All were pirate compilations (some of which I even showed Kumiko)...

  • People can use an affiliate program to sell and promote bishoujo works - including our products - and thus earn money to reduce their out of pocket expense. We do not have an affiliate program ourselves, but Right Stuf offers such a program, and some other dealers who carry our products might also offer such a program.

  • This is a very good idea but it will only succeed if a site gets a substantial amount of hits. Also, free servers like Geocities, Tripod, and the like don't allow affiliate programs because they are viewed as commercial activities. There is an exception though, certain free servers have arrangements with certain companies. For example, Geocities. GC was one of the sites who introduced the Amazon affiliate program when it started. GC and Amazon held a joint promotion a long time ago. As a result, GC allows sites that are Amazon affiliates. GC has a whole list of the companies they "approve" affiliate relations with, but that was some time ago (and they don't include anime shops). I don't know if the same holds true today.

  • Finally, people who are trustworthy could even set up a system of "borrowing" the game for a limited time either to test it out or to actually play it all the way through (depending on their skill and the game length.) They could borrow the game for a week, or just a few days - someone would have to oversee such an activity and be willing to take a chance on their own games, of course. But that's what being trustworthy is all about - after all, we are trusting the English market, and the Japanese companies are trusting us.

  • This is a good idea. Something like a "Bishoujo Game Network" can be established that would use such a system. The problem I see is it could be quite difficult to determine just who is trustworthy...

Such a waste… bishoujo games have so much more depth! Porn flicks are like, you’ve seen one… you’ve seen them all… and people actually pay good money for porn flicks!

What I think is need is a industrial association for Bishoujo game companies, similar to IDSA, MPAA, et cetera. Unfortunately, the number of companies is small, and as such won’t have very much weight, but they can still try to pressue programs to benefit the industry, including promoting Bishoujo games, fighting piracy, talking to distributes, and so on. I would also recommend joining IDSA, but I think they only accept “The Big Guys” like Nintend, Microsoft, ID Software, et cetera. But I may be wrong.

I was wondering, what do any of the companies offering affiliate programs get out of the deal. Why don’t just keep their own site?

Companies offer affiliate programs with the goal of reaching a broader range of audiences.

For example, Right Stuf. Not everybody knows that RS exists, so if more sites put up links to RS for the affiliate programs, they will reach more people. And when those people know about RS, next time they order, they can just go straight to RS and bypass the affiliates, meaning more profitability for RS in the long run...

Look at the bright side, at least PeaPri is a monopoly for now...

But seriously, it's not good that the other bishoujo game companies are shutting down.
