Hello everyone. I’m buying a Japanese language game from himeya shop. I know shipping is kind of steep, and the original Japanese games are a little pricey as well, so since I’m getting one, I figured I’d ask for some recommendations so I can buy a bulk order and satisfy myself for a while. Here’s a couple of things I’d like to be considered for any recommendations.
Not plot heavy, something on the caliber of the horny bunnies games is good. See girl, screw girl, the easy stuff.
Anything with easy Japanese that a beginner may pick up a couple sentences of. I have basic knowledge of the language, hiragana, katakana, limited kanji, though I’m working on expanding my vocabulary.
Just so you know, the game I am getting is Double Sensei Life by Alice Soft, because the artwork really appealed to me for some reason. So I’m getting the game on a whim, and figured if I can snatch a couple more easy games, from people whose recommendations I can trust, then it’ll make the deal that much sweeter.
The interface menu to the game looks like pure shit, and the background illustrations to story mode aren’t worth snot - but the character designs are nice on the eyes, the CG illustrations are colorful, and there’s lots of sex. Selection choices are easy, since their usually “pick one twin, the other twin, or both at the same time” type things.
Did I mention twincest? Can’t get enough of it.
If you’re willing to get a title with a bit more challenge in figuring out the “good ending” – and be rewarded with an uber twincest drama story – the check out Futari de Hitotsu no Koigokoro. The story is easy to pickup on without knowing Japanese, since the game makes liberal use of CG events… but the “response selections” you have to make to get the proper endings require a bit of finesse (you just can’t randomly pick).
Despite the competitive price Giant Panda tried to sell it at, seems like the title cost more to make than they made profit from it, and the studio closed shop. Damn shame.
Thanks, I’ll definitely be considering these when I make my purchase. I have to dig into Himeya a bit deeper before I make up my final decision. I’ll probably post a list before I buy and ask if the list looks good or not. Again, thanks for the help guys, and any more recommendations are welcome, I check back pretty much daily.
Yeah, I had read through the twincest thread more thoroughly, before it was mostly just picture browsing, and I saw that the game seemed to be extremely well received. It’s a shame the fate some of these games get.
Edit: Looks like Himeya came through for me. 65 is kinda steep, but I guess I’ll just get 3 games instead of 4.
So many good companies die out each year, but just as many (or more) pop up in their place. I also have a sneaking suspicion that a few groups on DL Site, are actually formerly dead circles reborn in a lesser capacity.
I’m just lamenting over Giant Panda, because it was the twincest that killed them… they were doing fine up until then.
That’s how much they charged when it first came out. I love Himeya, becuase they’re trustworthy and can find some really obscure titles no one else seems to - in mint condition no less. But my God do you pay for it. I’ve been trying to find a company that ships outside Japan with better prices across the board, and equal level of service, but so far I’m not doing good on that end…
When I’m in Japan, I drop by Softmap at Akihabara. They often sell older titles for 30% to 20% their retail price, but I don’t think they ship overseas - or that the uber discount prices apply outside the physical store.
I got Succubus Soon, Futari de Hitotsu no Koigokoro, and Double Sensei Life. Had to cut down the number of titles from 4 to 3 because of some prices(two 65 dollar games).
Thanks for the advice everyone. Sorry Computermania for not getting the title you advised, but I appreciate your contribution and will check it out in the future if I have a good experience with these games.
Well it doesn’t have to per se… There’s a lot of arguing between fans, on the canon level of the expansion. When Cyc released the MinDeaD DVD remake, none of the elements in the expansion were incorporated. Thus “purists” argue that this is because it was only to sate fans who wanted more endings for the girls who didn’t get endings. However the other side of the battlefield, argue that Cyc will eventually make a DVD remake of the expansion (fact in point there isn’t a DVD Player version yet), and just did this so they can milk more $$$ from the masses. Plus the “official ending” to the expansion is one of the best endings in the series: the presentation, dialog, and vocal theme song are just so badass. Thus totally ignoring it, does injustice to MinDeaD as a whole.
I mostly discuss with others, on which ending do they think is the REAL ending to MinDeaD… and if they’ve played Gore Screaming Show - which game happened first (with that cameo and all). The “true endings” are the ones with vocal theme songs to them… and as of MinDeaD DVD there are three of them (four counting the expansion). I also like to share thoughts on Yuka’s history with her family.

I still like Mayu too much for having that happen to her. Come to think of it: actually, you can’t approve of this ending either because it should terminate the twincest!
Thanks again everyone. I’ll post my thoughts once I finish playing the games, but it may be a while, I am very slow, and I don’t know if not really knowing much of the text is gonna make it slower or quicker(if I just ignore the stuff and look at pretty pictures!). Oh and thanks for the help offer Narg, if I do need to know anything, I’ll be sure and ask.
