Stupid boy bashing Mozilla

What do I have to do to make him understand?!
This is making me NUTS!

I will have to say this:

This is COMPLETELY off-topic (even for the off-topic thread). Sure, some users may want to use IE. If that’s the case, let them be. You can suggest them to use something better but, if they don’t want to, that is up to them.

As a sidenote, I am a Mozilla user, too, however, I don’t go to each forum and tell everybody to use Mozilla.

Don't waste your time, some people seem to be hardwired to use IE, even though just about anything else is better. Sometimes I have trouble switching people from IE to firefox, despite IE being a non standards compliant, buggy pain in the ass. They just won't listen.

That's why this is the Off-Topic forum, no?

I wouldn't bother if the person didn't go around bashing Mozilla for no reason.
And if someone gets infected by spyware because of IE, why not recommend Mozilla? It's the obvious choice.

Yes but have you ever heard the expression you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink?

Tell people your views, lead them to water, and if they still don’t want to change then leave them be because you likely will be unable to force them to change unless you want to spend years wearing them down, and there are other places where trying to change views, such as getting people to realize these games are not porn before they start saying these games are porn, which is more worth the time and energy you are putting in this fight.

Well, the first thing to do is cut out the personal insults. It's pretty much guaranteed that insulting someone will make them not want to listen to you, and he probably won't even really consider anything you tell him if you call him an idiot every time you reply to him.

You’re right, Nandemonai.
But I can’t help it. He’s no good at computers, and just bashes Mozilla because it seems the thing to do. His complaints even contradict itself, like I showed in the last thread.

It wouldn’t have gone this way if he just said that he wanted to use IE, and didn’t bash Mozilla for groundless reasons to justify his stance.

IMO Mozilla is sooo much better than IE. With IE you have to open every new site and shtuffz in a new window, but with Mozilla you can have multiple sites open under different tabs (a-lot more convenient plus less of a hog on Windows resources). I also would NOT trust IE when it comes to some of the… uhh… cough websites that I go to 'cus they usually will exploit vulnerabilities in IE to install viruses, spyware and lots of other junk on your PC. But what it all comes down to is preferance so if they want to use IE, you shouldn’t really make such a big deal about it. There are more important things to be worrying about… like when Kakyusei 2 is coming out!!! =D LOL

Hey, PriBleh, I see a lot of the images on your homepage are coming up with 404’s.

Game: August 27th. Check it here
Anime: October. Check it here

In both cases, the links will take you to Japanese sites.

And, yes, I am almost ready to pre-order my copies!

Yeah it's 'cus the webhost that my domain is on switched servers and still hasn't transferred all of my stuff. >_< I just did a temporary quick fix on it though. =D Not like anyone cares... =PpP

fxho: That's so awesome, Kakyusei is like my favorite bishoujo game/anime. =D August is so close but so far though. >_<

Well, apparantly an interesting development took place:

While I don’t recommend FireFox because it’s a beta product and not really stable, or at least not as stable as the Mozilla suite, this is a good step in the right direction.

I use Opera myself. Its not free but its been around for a long time and worth paying for. Mozilla and Firefox use a lot of things that Opera came up with, like tabbed browseing for example. Also Opera is extremely stable and uses very little memory.

This was my first thought, after reading that Link. Simply, it's impossible to remove Internet Explorer from any Windows system, because a few critical Windows programs require its presence.

But does it give you rock-solid security?
Is it standards-compliant?

No.
